Toddlers Observation Report

Toddlers look like they are very hard to handle or can be very easy to corporate, but it depends on the child itself. Though they are very adorable to take care I figured to choose my setting at a church called Calvary Bible Church, which they take care of all ages from infants to teenagers. On February 25, 2018 I choose to observe toddlers/walkers from 10:45 to 12:15. The number of toddlers were about four and there were three helpers and one teacher who oversees the classroom. The reason I choose this setting is because I wanted to see a different aspect of how a church setting is set up, than a childcare faculty. They both have some similar roles on how to take care toddlers and walkers but they can have different structures and views on …show more content…
She told me that when new or upcoming toddlers are moved to this room they begin to cry. This is because the new toddlers are not comfortable to leave their parent. So the helpers will always grab the child from the parent and take them to the window to distract them. Toddlers then stops crying for a while and forgets their parent because they are focus on what is outside. With this said the helper explained that Samuel was attached to her because she was the first to approach to Samuel and kept him calm. This example that I found out was emotional development because Samuel will always be beside the helper, which her name is Megan, and will always ask her for his needs and not from anyone else. A physical development that I observed from Samuel and the other toddlers is when the Megan blows bubbles for the children. When Megan began to blow the bubbles, some of the toddlers will notice and walk towards her. Bubbles then came out and all the toddlers stood up and began to jump to reach the bubbles. The toddler’s motor skills was either jumping or walking around to chase the bubbles. All of them were all excited and yelling out bubbles while Megan was waving the stick all over the

Staff members will gain a relationship with parents/carers as their child will be registering with that nursery. The practitioners will need to gather information from each child’s parents/carers to be able to find out important information such as health, allergies, disabilities, likes and dislikes. The parents/carers will also be able to find out how their child has been getting on in the setting and if they are either doing well or having difficulties in a specific area, and find out what support they can get for either them or their child. It’s very important that all the children have a strong relationship as they would be seeing a lot of each other, and together they can gain lots of skills by learning from one another. 3.3: Explain reasons for working in partnership with others.…

All of the windows looking into the classrooms and looking outside are my favorite because they provide light, openness, and a sense of connection throughout the whole building. The commons is also a great area. It is large and open for all of the kids to spread out and explore their surroundings, while engaging in gross motor activities, such as going down a slide, riding a tricycle, or jumping on a trampoline.…

There are many ways of working in partnership with parents and these allow the needs of the child to come first and be dealt with most effectively: Staff communicate daily with parents about a child's individual needs. When dropping the child off, staff normally enquire about how the child is, how they slept and ate, etc. The parents will share any new information or concerns about the child and visa versa. This is one of the most important aspects of our partnership with parents as it allows us to work closely together, communicate any important information and make sure that information is shared and each child's needs are met.…

The last observation I took note of was scaffolding. Scaffolding is adjusting the level of guidance to fit the child’s performance. I witnessed this when Jake walked over to the playground portion of the orchard and looked confusingly at a toy on the ground. It was a sand castle mold in which you put the sand into it and you get a mold of the castle. His caregiver picked up the sand castle mold and walked Jake over to the sand.…

Child development is an amazing thing to watch in the way that children interact with one another and how they perceive the world that surrounds. While doing my research of child development we began to observe a set of sisters that happened to be my two nieces, one being 2, and the other being 4. I spent a weekend staying over at my sister’s house to spend time with them to conduct this project, and learned many things about their physical, cognitive, and social and emotion development. This observation took place in the children's home. As a playroom they used the living room because that is where all their toys are.…

I completed my infant observation at the University Child Development Center. The University Child Development Center specializes in childcare for infants all the way up to children age 12. The infant I observed was about eight months of age and was placed in a classroom that usually has a relatively small number of infants for better one on one attention. As I completed my observation, I observed all five developmental domains which include physical, emotional and social, cognitive, adaptive, and language and communication.…
