During my observation, I was able to witness a few things between the children there and how they socialized with each other. When first arriving, the whole class was in a circle and the teacher was giving instructions on the activities that were going to happen. After the teacher explained the activities, the children were split up into groups and went on to the activity with a teacher. The different activities that were being offered were; drawing, building, playing with play dough, and a science section. There were not that many activities offered, however if the children did not want to do any of these activities they were allowed to play something else. As the children went into their sections, they began to do the activities, I made sure to stand somewhere where I would not be in the way of the children. Once I found I spot I began to observe the children. There was an activity in which was science based and only 5 children at a time could be there. The children got to learn about how plants work. This activity was conducted by 2 teachers and was really ruled inforced. The children knew how to listen and what …show more content…
The teacher who was interacting with the boy in the drama area then began to focus on the girls and help them with the dresses. As other girls saw that the dresses were being taken out, they began to get closer and wanted to play. I noticed this engagement between two girls, in which one of them had this one dress, and the other took it out of her hands because her friend wanted that dress. The girl who had the dress got upset, and the way that the teacher handled that situation was with giving the girl another dress. As she was trying to grab her attention towards something else, the child started to see all the different dresses, she then began to smile and chose a dress, which she then put on and began to play with the other girls who were also playing dress

It is important to evaluate whether or not the EYPP is making a difference to the children who need it the most. In the early years observations take place to assess where a child currently is working within according to the EYFS. This is where a good relationship between the setting and family would make a difference. A knowledgeable key person will know their key child’s starting points and will be able to track their progress through their assessments. In May 2015 OFSTED began including children receiving EYPP in their inspections.…

The children were finishing their morning snack as I arrived. It was about 9:30 in the morning, and the kids were told to pick a book and go to the circle time carpet before their morning meeting. Holly appeared to be all smiles, she greeted me as I came in, having familiarized herself with me a bit by then, and chatted with her classmates as she munched on her cereal and applesauce. After getting cleaned up, and reluctantly getting a fresh diaper, Holly managed to open the low-lying door leading into the classroom from the outside, in the hallway. She let the door swing shut behind her, and walked over to the carpet when the majority of her classmates were sitting, laying, or standing with a book or several books.…

After numerous times the teacher asked her stop and sit down, the teacher then told the toddler to sit by her for a few minutes on the rug and “watch” her so she can “help” her. The girl sat down quietly and watched the teacher change a diaper, then the teacher told her “I like how you’re watching, thank you big girl.” After this, the girl went back where the other toddlers were playing and did not run or chase other children for the remainder of the…

Spending two and half hours in each classroom, I learned a great deal about early childhood education from ages birth through eight, and the effort and skills that it takes to create a stimulating learning environment. For my infant, toddler, and preschool observations, I spent my hours at the CCC Childcare Center located in our college while for my kindergarten, 1st grade, 2nd grade observations, I spent my time at Casey Park Elementary School. During my observations at the CCC Childcare Center, I learned plenty about the methods and practices that go into early education before primary grades. The preschool classroom really stood out to me because the centers in the classroom were very open ended and filled with lots of manipulative for…
