Reflection Paper On Cat Community

Integration Paper At the beginning of the year, I was really skeptical of joining the Find Your Fit cat community. The course had a broad description about finding your place on campus. I actually wanted to take the I am Therefore I Write cat community but the class was already full. Ultimately, I chose the course on a whim hoping that I would get something positive out of it and it was the best decision I could have made. I really liked how the course focused on career decision making and professional development. As a freshman in college it was intimidating entering the professional world. I was still in the mentality that everything was still just for practice and this class helped move into a serious mindset. Every activity was beneficial …show more content…
A former employee at KSU posted a discriminatory picture that went viral. To a lot of people the picture was a touchy topic but Jared insisted that we discuss it because it was an important issue. We were able to see how different groups perceived the event. I really appreciated that we did not avoid the issue but made an effort to understand people and their motivations. That is exactly the kind of environment I want to work in all the time. I think it is important to for co-workers to be able to discuss issues regarding diversity and inclusion. I hope that I will have the same level of professionalism that Jared had when another similar issue happens and I might have to lead the …show more content…
Next semester, I’m going to have to work twice as hard to find a place on campus. I have decided that I want to finish my freshman year here in Manhattan, however if I still cannot find a solidified place in a club or organization I feel like I might still leave Kansas State. Right now I am considering from a lot of different options. My very nice instructor nominated me to be a Residential Learning Assistant and I have been learning more about Student Government Association so I know that there are plenty of things I can join.
I really do appreciate everything I have gotten out of this class especially all of the friends I have gained. I have become very close friends to most of the people this cat community. In fact, one of the people in my class is Payton who I knew from high school but I was never really good friends with until this class. Now we spend a ton a time together and I’ve learned that we have a lot in common. I never would be friends with him had we not both picked this

When I first started Richland Community College, I thought it was going to be a breeze because of it being a community college. From the first week of it though, I realized this is not going to be a walk in the park. I realized I will have to put in extra time to study for tests and writing expansive papers. After being in Professor Trickel’s class for one semester, I have learned to study beforehand and not leave anything till the last minute, his class has taught me that time management is necessary in order to succeed. The class has also granted me new friends, who have helped me whether it be helping me understand the lesson, or sharing their study methods and materials.…

Although Kitty criticizes Margaret’s unattractive animalistic nature, Kitty is herself equally animalistic and is represented as a bastardized animal. Nothing short of an anthropomorphized cat, Kitty, bearing her animality in her very name, wails (West 5, 7) and moans (15) incessantly like a mewing cat. In 1916, Edward Forbush described the domestic cat, which can be similarly applied to Kitty, as “the inmate of … humble homes” who has “elegance of form … [and] daintiness of habit” (7). However, the domestic cat leads a “dual existence” by also embodying the role of the wild hunter (7). Like a feral cat trapped inside a house, Kitty is trapped within Baldry Court unable to express her natural desires.…

After completing my second semester of Comp, I can honestly say that overall, I have enjoyed myself. I am proud of the work that I put in and feel that my grade best reflects the effort that I have put forth the last four months. One of the most memorable things that I am going to take from this class, is the ability to sprinkle lecture with humor in order to keep your audience’s attention. Because of this technique, I was able to learn so much more than if I would have taken this course over a computer screen or listened to some monotoned man drone on for forty five minutes at the beginning of each day. Although I don’t normally like poetry, I was able to really dig into our major paper and feel that I have such a better understanding of poetry than what I did in the past.…

The Cat’s Meow The Felis Catus, or cat, is anything but tedious; in fact, the cat is the most riveting subjects. They vary in different shapes, sizes, and breeds. These beautiful and small animals resembling its much larger ancestors are covered in soft, silky fur, as they contain a short, rounded head, erect triangular ears, large vivid eyes that have the ability to see in the dark, and vertical-slit pupils. In addition, they contain sharp claws that are hidden in fleshy pads and 26-30 teeth- this is why their Physical Anatomy is so compelling.…
