When I was trying to participate of the BSMP program, one of the first thing that come to my mind was "how about my friends?". I can say for sure that most of the participants of the BSMP program thought the same thing at least once. Brazilians are very affective and close of their friends. Due to, it is hard to create this distance between us, students living in United States, and our friends even being necessary. I had imagined about this topic since the begging of this program. Fortunately, it becomes an essay which I already thought a lot about it. Friendship is not the main goal for the students but along the time it becomes very important for all of us specially

Waiting for the airplane to go to United States I could meet the firsts BSMP students going to the same university as I. We call ourselves "The firsts seven", as the name already said, we were the firsts BSMP students in that university -University of Bridgeport. After this point, our life 's would never be the same. The human being always tend to create a first impression. With these people could not be different. I liked some of them since the begging and did not like others. During the English classes, we almost "killed" each other because we were always discussing and debating something controversial, but not only fights define our relation. My friends and I -we called ourselves as "UB anonymous" as we were not that kind of hipsters- were always making new friends of different nationalities, playing games, having fun at all. At this time, we made such a special friend, a Japanese girl -her name is Yuka- who was always with the "UB anonymous". If I can describe our friendship in one word, it would be "guffaws". That girl was so special for all the Brazilians. She could change our life style and the way that we looked at life. In exchange, we taught her some things about Brazil including Portuguese but nothing is more significant than what she showed and taught us about life and
