Brain Games Video Analysis

Brain Games This video was really fascinating and interesting to watch. All the different illusions that happened during the video really made me think about what I was looking at. Some of the illusions were really confusing and difficult to figure out. Overall I really enjoyed watching this video.
This video really correlated to chapter four in our psychology book. The video talked a lot about perception, which in our book it really focuses on perception and how the brain sees different objects. The video helped me understand better about what perception is. They also talked about depth and size in the video. They used a golf ball and soccer ball for an example of size. I actually got all of the dot test right. The first four of the test were really easy, but that’s because I do those activities on a regular bases. The last one was a lot harder to recognize than the first four. The reason I had a tough time recognizing the last test was because I never sword fight. This illusion was a lot easier to understand then some of the other illusions. This illusion made a lot of sense to me. I understand why it would be easier to recognize the motions of activities that you do a lot and it would be harder to recognize motions of activities that you never do. I thought it was really fun to guess which activities they were doing. In the video, they talk about mirror neurons. Mirror neurons are basically seeing somebody else doing something and you feel like you are doing it too or you feel their pain. For instance, in the illusion where the guy cuts his finger, they said you probably felt his pain when he cut himself. I did feel a pain when he cut himself and I felt bad for him. He is blind and he is able to ride a bike. He uses echo location to help him see. I think that’s so cool that he is finding different ways to see even though he’s blind. It’s really interesting to me that Daniel is doing that bats do, in the dark to see. He uses his visual cortex to help him make sense of sounds now. I find it really interesting how he found a new way of seeing with echo location. The video Brain games definitely messed with my brain and really made me think about what I was looking at. I thought it was a great video to watch to help us understand the information in chapter four. It was fun watching all the different illusions and trying to figure them out. This video was very informal and defiantly helped me understand everything
