The children engaged in the activity as they dropped dye into the water. They explored the celery and made observations of what it looked like prior to placing it in the dye and the day after. The children elaborated on what it looked and explained why and how it looked like that after a night in the water. Finally, I did not observe the children evaluating their understanding. The celery also supported the diverse learners in the classroom. JKL is predominantly made up of children with Native American backgrounds and cultures. This activity addressed Native Americans and how they were able to successfully grow
