Babysitting: I started babysitting neighbors and family friends kids at the age of 12. I really enjoy working with kids and have always been very responsible. This work is still something that I continue today.
Concession/Front Desk: I worked at the Hampton Aquatic Center the summer of my 8th grade year. This was my first real job. My responsibilities included; managing money, helping customers, and keeping the facility clean. During the summer I worked inside, I developed a great amount of people skills. Many people would come up to the window to pay for entry or an item from the concession stand, but I also had to deal with complaints. This was a difficult task, but one I handled very well by the end of the year.

• What do you believe is your greatest strength and why? My greatest strength is my determination. My willingness to work hard for the things I want in life, has helped me achieve great things. My determination can be shown in the classroom daily. I constantly push myself to get good grades and take as many college classes as I can. Something I’m very proud of is that fact that I will graduate high school with 46 college credits. These credits will help me enormously in college.
• What do you believe is your greatest weakness and what steps are you taking to overcome this? My greatest weakness is that I tend to be a perfectionist. I like things to be done correctly and in efficient timing. I’ve had the most trouble with this in the last year serving as the student body president. With so many things to do in the school, my plate was loaded with large amounts of planning and tasks to do. I had a hard time delegating the work, so my pile constantly growing. After a while I learned that I could no do this on my own, I have now made strives to delegate the work. Although it may not be done my way, sometimes that can be a good thing.

What makes you different than others?
Something that is unique about myself is that I'm a certified EMT. Beginning my junior year of high school, I took the EMT course. The extra workload along with my normal classes was exhausting, but the information I learned was exciting. Leaving class everyday, I felt excited to learn more. This past summer I met the clinical requirement, past the skills test, and the state exam. Being a certified EMT is something I am very proud of and will serve me well in the future. This experience opened my eyes to what I could truly achieve and that I want to continue to help those in need through medicine.
