Introduction The 1979 Iranian Revolution also known as the Islamic revolution is responsible for several actions among them the establishment of an Islamic Republic. The Iranian revolution caused several factors among them the citizens’ discontent with the Shah’s rule, existing social injustices, imperialism, Ayatollah’s exile, and religious motives. The main goal of the revolution was to overthrow the Pahla Dynasty, and several methods were involved by the citizens to that effect. Through the religious, political, and socio-economic policies of Reza Shah, the political situation of Iran was unstable. The ruling regime was significantly losing support and influence on the citizens by the fact that the both lower, middle, and upper classed rejected the regime’s policies for different reasons (Percy, 2012). It indicated that the opposition was strongly gaining ground before the Islamic Revolution took place due to the dissatisfactions in the political system of the ruling dynasty. Ayatollah became popular for criticizing the irreligion and political allies that the ruling dynasty brought in, including the changes to the political and economic systems. The adoption of changes by Mohammed Reza indicated that he adopted the democratic political system while Ayatollah and the citizens through rejection of Reza’s policies point to the need for a conservative political and socio-economic system. The documentaries can, therefore, be used to term the political system before the Iranian Revolution as the democratic and capitalistic under imperialism, while after the Revolution is the conservative political and economic system. Through focusing on the two leaders at the time; Mohammed Reza as the Shah and Ayatollah Khomeini as the opposition leader, the documentaries present information that can be cross-checked and verified with the real situation in the region. The two documentaries complement each other with the Shah of Iran documentary detailing the challenges of the political system in Iran from the perspective of the ruling regime and the second documentary, “The Man Who Changed the World” highlighting on how Iran was made through Ayatollah, to assume its Initial political systems that had initially been altered. In addition, the political systems and powers can also be pointed out during the period surrounding the Iranian
