I’ve never been that good at Art but I love doing art (at least I hope what I make is good enough to be considered art). I just try to produce something with the best of my ability and hope for the best. In AP Art, we were given a project about mosaics. A mosaic is a picture or design made of tiny pieces (tesserae) of colored stones, glass, tile or paper adhered to a surface. In order to do this, we relied on the knowledge we have about this project since this is the second time we are going to do it. We also had to include the requirements which were: 3 handmade tiles, and a found object. We were also required to have a symbol in the piece. The amulet was that I had to mix the plaster by gradually adding water and pouring it to our mold. Then, we let it dry until it turns solid. An amulet is a small object worn to ward off evil, harm of illness or to bring good fortune; protecting charm. The tools I used for the making of the amulet are: roller, smoothing tools, ribbon tools and toothpick. We were also given the option to do a faux finish on our amulet if we wanted to. For my amulet, I decided to make a heart shaped amulet and covered it with tiles afterwards. I was inspired by the idea I saw on the internet and I did my own tile covered amulet. The symbol I used was a heart even though it is the most common symbol because It would be easy for me to make a heart shaped amulet. In order to make this, I had to flatten the clay using a roller. Then, I printed out a picture of a heart on a piece of paper, put it on the top of the clay and made tiny holes that outlined the image. I connected all the tiny holes using a toothpick and started digging the clay out by using the ribbon tools. Then, I used a smoothing tool to fix the shape of the
