Theatre Fall Concert Essay

I attended the University Theatre Fall Concert on Thursday, November, 18. As a whole the production was very well put together and I found it to be very entertaining. Some of the dances, in my opinion, were very good and then some of them I did not exactly understand. All of the dancers did a very outstanding job and their hard work showed in the production. The dress for the dances were all very uniform and most of them were things that were easy for the dancers to move in comfortably. The types of dance varied from hip-hop, to contemporary, and ballet. It was very diverse and they included both male and female dancers. There was only two solos and the rest were groups ranging from three people to ten or twelve in a big group together. Some of the dances used special lighting to set the mood along with the music. There was little to no use of props in most of the dances. The dances that did use props only used two or three things …show more content…
was the fifth performance of the show. There were six total dancers in the entire piece they all wore pink leotards and tights along with ballet shoes. The dance began with three ballerinas doing dance exercises on the bar and then the three others enter the stage soon after. The last three ballerinas that came to the stage last were carrying guns with them when they came to join the others. This dance was very entertaining because it contained dramatic irony with the fact that the last three ballerinas had guns. This is so because it disturbs the traditional thought of the sweet and cute ballerina that everyone has. A normal person does not expect a ballerina to carry around a gun on a normal day. The music that played was very soft and slow. The dancers also all moved together doing the same moves. This performance had a very low energy along with slow movements and there was no use of levels in this piece. I really enjoyed this one because it was funny to watch since it was such a contradiction to the everyday image of

Concert Etiquette When attending a musical performance, there are different sets of rules that accompany certain types of concerts. Most of the time these rules are unspoken and typically general knowledge, with the exception of classical music concerts where pamphlets may be given out or picked up ahead of time. That being said, there are many limitations of how one should conduct his or herself at a performance. During a classical music concert, the general principle is to be polite and good mannered as to properly accompany the style of music. Dress code isn’t entirely formal, but a good guide as to what you should or should not wear might be what you would wear to work or out to dinner with friends.…

Concert Report Two The concert performance given live that I have attended on Thursday April 20th, 2017 was an organ licentiate recital by Ian Guenette. It was held at the Redpath Hall, a building located on McTavish street. The Redpath Hall was first dedicated for a library building, but is now taken charge by the Schulich School of Music. The Hall is very charming with its high selling that contains thick dark brown carved wodden beams that covers the intire ceiling and gives warmth to the room.…

The concert was presented by University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill’s Department of Music’s UNC Jazz Band on Saturday, October 10th, 2015. The concert venue was located at UNC Kenan Music Building’s Rehearsal Hall. It started from 8pm to 9.40 pm. Compared to all the other concerts that I have gone to, the UNC Jazz Band concert was a definite change in atmosphere as it was a large band consisted of students. The stage was set up really well and has a nice lighting.…

For the Jazz Concert that I attended I saw the Nico Lembo Trio perform at Venkman’s in the Historic Fourth Ward of Atlanta. The Trio, consisting of drums, trombone, and electronic keyboard, had a sound that was heavily inspired by the “Cool Style” of Jazz in the early 1950’s with some hints of John Coltrane inspired Free Jazz elements. Throughout most of the performance the Trio played traditional instrumental jazz including classic songs by artists such as Miles Davis along with some original pieces by Nico himself. Although mostly instrumental the band brought a vocalist on stage for a select number of songs.…

The woman was showing off her hips and she was wearing shoulder shimmies, so the element of costuming has to be very important to the dance. The dance is a very sexual dance and seems to require a lot of rhythm. While they were dancing, I paid attention to their feet a lot of the time. First of all, the man is the leader and basically calls the shots on whether or not the lady should move back or forward first. The man and the…

The second concert to go to was on saturday November 4th at 8pm at Stony Brook University’s Staller center. The atmosphere of being at staller felt pleasant and relatable as I was not going to the symphony just for an assignment, but rather as a guest ready for a good show. Awaiting for the symphony to begin, sitting at the top final row on the room, I realized my surrounding was that large amounts of older folks wore presentable outfits, students with casual attire, and the orchestra wearing white and black. As in any other concert, the audience behavior before the start of the program was settling down and reading the little pamphlet that was placed on top of their seat preparing for the show. After the concerto finished, the audience rose…

You Be the Adjudicator This past weekend, I went to watch a concert that Warwick Veterans Band held Saturday night. The three pieces of music they played were Fanfare Esprit, Godfather, and Christmas Past. Generally, the entire band played the music accurately, used the proper technique, unique to each instrument and created a balance amongst themselves. However, as professional as the concert had sounded, it had some flaws here and there. Dynamics were one of the biggest shortcomings that occurred while the band played, along with some others that should be fixed.…

During my ongoing business conference to Colorado to learn about future career opportunities for my dual degrees in Communication design and Computer Science, I got to attend an orchestra concert presented by the Hapless Heroes who were conducted by Leslie Stewart. The show was musical theatre where they had a live orchestra playing in front of the stage while the actors explained the Greek tale of Orpheus and Eurydice. I attended this amazing show on the 4th of December. I love learning about Greek Mythology so I was already enthusiastic about attending this show.…

A rising art form in popular culture today is none other than the American musical theatre. An array of factors have emerged and collided over the past decade to bring what was once a niche staple of American culture to the forefront of the media and culture around the world.
