Susan asked everyone to introducing themselves, how they help the family and which family member(s) they work with.
1. Miss Orbach explained Cody and Emily now have their own personal therapist to cater to their needs. The children have done their interview process with the Big Sister Big Brother program and our waiting to be assigned their Big Sister and Big Brothers. She informed everyone that she has been trying to convince Perform Care that Logan needs his own personal therapist. Perform Care has given her a list of outpatient programs for Logan to participate …show more content…
Mr. Hardell suggested giving the children rewards. Miss Orbach buys the children reward and before she can give it out the children go thought her things and take it. Which led us to the idea of respect. The children did not respect their mother, her things or their own belongings. Miss Orbach gave us an example of her taking the children to the doctor’s office and the staff giving the children a warning and counting down and the children to behaving. She is concerned that she cannot get the same respect for the children, as strangers. She discussed a meltdown that Drew had over a snack. When she gave him the option between the snack and dinner he chose to eat the snack and he also took it upstairs. Which is breaking the rules. She felt like this was a failure. When she gave him the consequence of sitting at the dining room table without eating with everyone, but she gave in and allowed him to eat. At which point, I explained that it was not a failure, because he did not get what he wanted which was the ability to sit upstairs and watch television throughout dinner. Which would have normally been an option. Miss Orbach to sends the children away from the table when she gets too worked up. So, the go upstairs and watch TV.
4. Susan did state, she has eased up on chores. As long as they help her when she asks for help. I explained that schedules, bonding and chores fall under the umbrella of discipline and team work. The children will not help, because they know how to
