Reflection On Working At Jr. High School

Decent Essays
I see the vicious circle that Freudenmann talks about in my work place, I work at Jr. High school. Many of teachers have established images of students which are good and bad. Some students are in the in-house everyday, but according to these students, they did not do anything and the teachers get upset just because they do not like them. I think that every person deserves a fresh start; not been judged because of the past. We need to have a fresh start every day and need to pay close attention to our thoughts: are our attitude and responses affected by the past experiences? There is a lot to learn about myself and I need to remind myself that I need to be responsible of my feeling, actions, and attitude. Having a fresh thoughts everyday is

All throughout my school career, starting all the way in elementary school, school came very easy for me. I found that I rarely had to try hard at anything because it seems like I just knew it. With very little studying I was able to maintain high grades. In middle school I was put in advance math classes and it still wasn't a challenge but then in my junior year of high school things started to get difficult.…

    1. How will you fit The Prospect into your busy high school schedule? When will you do your assignments, and how will you complete your TP work on a particularly busy week? I'd like to say that I'm naturally adaptive to time-crunch situations. In junior year, I took on two internships that both had scheduled meetings, work agendas, and time-consuming projects.…

I live a really fast paced life and go from one thing to another to another, and I never really find myself with much time to sit down and reflect on the actions I have taken. Sometimes, I just reason out that instead of wasting time thinking about something that already happened, I can go be productive and worry about what is happening right now. However, this isn’t necessarily the best way to look at things. A lot of times, I find myself making the same mistakes over and over again, like working on DIY projects instead of studying for a test or over-committing myself. Maybe, if I sat down and thought about the causes of my problems, I could recognize how to prevent those problems from happening.…

“In the end, it`s not the years in your life that count. It`s the life in your years” (Thompson 15). In The Great Gatsby, Fitzgerald portrays memories and the past in several different manners. I grew up on a large amount of acreage out in the country with my parents and my older brother. I was constantly running around outside exploring everything in nature, rarely watching TV. I really enjoyed learning what things were made of and how everything fit together in the world. Both of my parents were very loving and supportive. They cared and worried about me all the time, but yet let me make my own decisions and decide on my own, who I wanted to be.…

Hardworking, trustworthy, selfless, determined, and helpful… I believe that I have demonstrated these qualities exceptionally throughout my high school career. A glimpse at my exquisite grades that I have kept in four years of challenging classes reveals not only my effort, but my endless determination as well. Despite all of the energy that I directed towards my own success at school, I was always willing to help others who struggled in their classes, especially in math and science. Also, I put time and effort into my extracurricular activities in order to benefit my school’s community. I painted a mural of the Mt. Hope Bridge to beautify a conference room, helped plan countless events for the entire student body, from spirit weeks to…

I know I am a workaholic and I am trying to get away from this I am learning to delegate and put my foot down, especially saying “No”. I know I have always felt satisfied when I kept doing more and endlessly tiring myself. I know I have been encouraged by my own self to be me, to be straight with people and with my own self; my own wants and feelings rather than crooked and covert. In this manner I am learning to understand what I want and possibly how to get it.…

Solution Focused Approach The solution focused approach falls under the wide branch of humanism “Its roots are in Systems Theory which posits that individuals who are in frequent contact will unavoidably influence each other.” (Lyons, Ford, & Arthur-Kelly, 2011, p. 25) Unlike many of the other humanist theories the Solution Focused approach does not focus on the individual as a problem but rather as a solution; the belief being that the problem comes from the individual’s interactions. To assess a problem within behaviour the student works with the teacher and their peers to assess the incident that resulted in the misbehaviour.…

I have never really thought of myself as a leader, because I was usually quiet and self centered. Sophomore year was the year I truly became assertive and controlling that made me become a “leader”. Besides being challenged in academics and music, my role in sports became more defined that year. Track season during spring started out fine as everything was relaxing and looking good. With a small core of discus and shotput throwers, around three out of six of us were looking to go big.…
