When you think of the word “Revolution” as a whole, you think of the word “Revolt”. Normally whether it’s a single person, a group, or maybe a whole country, when we revolt against something, it’s normally because we want change. When Thomas Jefferson came to power as America’s third president of the United States, he caused a revolution to occur. Unlike most revolutions, war didn’t actually happened, but change did come from this. In the article “The Second American Revolution” by a lady named Joyce Appleby, she explains what Jefferson’s time in the Whitehouse was a time like no other, and something that lives a legacy throughout our daily lives.

Jefferson wasn’t much of a public speaker, and as I said before, not really a man to talk about politics. However, he was still one of America’s best presidents. I like to compare Jefferson to an old toy, or an old car, we can’t have presidents like Thomas Jefferson, we just can’t. Now, I say this because of his way of expressing his ideas. He almost always didn’t and when he did he did it in a way that could represent a child trying to explain to his parents how he failed his test that he was supposed to study for, but he didn’t. No one wants a stranger to be president, they have to have both the power and the way of expressing that power. Jefferson had the power, but not the way of expressing that power, so in today’s politics if he were to try and run again, he would stand no chance.
Now, if I were to recommend this, I would say yes if you want to know a short way of what Thomas Jefferson has done in politics in general, but not if you want to study Jefferson as a whole. I still think it’s a good way of showing why we should celebrate Jefferson, and also a good explanation of what makes his legacy live on. Jefferson’s time was indeed like no other, it wasn’t the best time, but it was far from the worst, and I’m glad that this article contributes to his
