On February 8, 2016, I got the honor to attend the Mercy Corps workshop. Even though at first, I had not motivation to go, I ended up learning a lot more than I expected. The speaker talked about what they do along with some tips that will be useful. It was quite fascinating knowing that opposes to giving people in crisis food, they give them money. At first, it thought it was a horrible idea for them to do so, but as they explained that it brought revenue into the town it made a little more since. In the same way, I started realizing, “Well they have a point. What if they person does not need food, but something else?” I never truly thought of that until then.
