Telling the truth will help avoid trouble in the long run.” I had since then held telling the truth on a higher pedestal than lying, even if it was a “white lie”. If one is honest of their intentions, they build a trust with another individual because their honesty is valued. An example would be the basketball game situation explained before. I would maintain the trust between my parents and myself. However, if an individual is too honest, they may destroy trust. For example, if a close friend shares a secret, they trust that it will be kept. If that secret is out, then they ask how their secret was released to their peers. If they are told the honest truth; that their friend accidentally slipped up and let it out, their trust is most likely

As children we were taught the good and the bad. We were taught to be good with others, to say please, and thank you, but more than anything to be honest. One of the biggest most unacceptable matter was to lie. We could not lie, no matter how big or how small it was, it is still considered to be bad, but what if one lie could turn to be something good.…

In modern times, people claim that, “Chivalry is dead,” but are people aware of what chivalry means, or what the chivalry code is? Between 1170 and 1220, knights developed a chivalric code, or a code of conduct, for themselves and important men to follow. The code had six main rules that helped guide citizens in living a helpful and fulfilled life. Unfortunately, the chivalry code is not used or followed like it was many years ago. The chivalry code can still be used today, especially these rules: honor truth by word and deed, be faithful to one lady, and abide to the laws of your country or region.…

It is a way of escaping the reality of a problem or it is a last resort because you do not want to embarrass yourself by being honest. Moreover, the adage “honesty is the best policy” does not always ring true for many. Sometimes we have to lie in order to get to the truth. In Stephanie Ericsson’s “The Ways We Lie,” we find that lying is a natural and unavoidable act.…

We are taught that we shouldn’t lie. Lying to get out of trouble will just get you into more trouble down the line, meaning if we lie, no matter how good we think we are at lying, we will eventually get caught somehow.…

you find telling the truth way more easier than it is to tell the lie or “sweet talk” your way out of it. Lies no matter how big or small are going to add up and get much more confusing in the end. When speaking out on the truth its half of most people’s instinct or in my cases it’s not, but after a while and you focus on not telling lies it becomes nearly too almost impossible to lie .Someone or something gives it away and they are left already knowing. Like for example if there was a surprise dinner for someone at work and the person you are throwing a surprise to ask what are you doing for the weekend you say I have this surprise dinner I have to go to and you were just being honest and everyone was trying to be secretive about. If you are an honest person most people will come to you about information or feedback.…
