The truth is what people admire and respect. The truth is what is favored more often than other qualities. When a person is asked what they admire and prefer about another person, they often say honesty. When it comes to the circumstances of a relationship, honesty is the thing both people involved are interested in. Of course they look for other things such as a sense of humor, similar taste in activities and trust, but they want honesty that their potential partner is the things that they say they are. Honesty is often the key to another person’s heart. Honesty also aids in getting out of situations. If a person is honest about what their intentions are, the person who questioned them appreciates their honesty and from then on, they will assume that the individual in question is honest all the time. For example, if I wish to partake in an activity, I must be honest with my parents. If I tell them that I am going to a basketball game and McDonald’s afterwards, I must do so. If one is honest of their intentions, they build a trust with another individual because their honesty is valued. An example would be the basketball game situation explained before. I would maintain the trust between my parents and myself. However, if an individual is too honest, they may destroy trust.
