I have been an active member of our National Honor Society chapter for two years, and my peers elected me to serve as Vice President during my Senior year.
As Vice President, I believed that I could inspire the members of our National Honor Society chapter to broaden our impact on the local community.
I have frequently interacted with National Honor Society members from other schools, and the high standards and requirements expected of their members left a lasting impression on me. I felt that our National Honor Society chapter should begin emulate those same high standards.
The four pillars of National Honor Society are Scholarship, Service, Leadership, and Character.

For example, I organized a National Honor Society team to participate in the Light the Night Walk, which benefits the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. I also assembled a large group of National Honor Society members to assist Habitat for Humanity in building a house for a family in our local community.
I believe this progression towards interactive service activities, which allows members to serve others on a personal level, will provide students with a more fulfilling experience and foster a desire to continue active involvement in the community.
As the desire to participate in Service activities grows, members would consequently begin to fulfill the last two pillars of National Honor Society: Leadership and Character.
In the coming years, I hope that my efforts to implement National Honor Society activities that provide direct community involvement will help my school’s Chapter to flourish with fresh new ideas and encourage positive contributions in the
