Reflection Of Participation In A Case Conversation

You were a little quite on Wednesday in the first part of the IQ sessions but opened up more in the second half. However on Friday your participation was more even throughout. You did very nice board work; I liked how you engaged the entire group in labeling your drawing not because you did not know but because you wanted more people to participate in the discussion. Importantly, few times you went back to the case making connections between discussed material and patients symptoms described in the case. We definitely need to do this more often. You also had a very nice case presentation this Friday. I am pleased you shared with me in your reflection that you want to advance your case presentation by talking rather than reading. This

The group energy was much higher and participation in the discussion was much more balanced. I believe this is a result of the positive constructive feedbacks given to the group in our checkouts and an effort of the entire group to implement those feedbacks. I hope it will stay this way in the weeks to come.
For sure you are one of the ‘steering wheels’ of this group and your contribution to its growth is enormous. You are continuously very well prepared and you frequently probe the group with questions to have everybody more involved; yet your participation is just enough. Quite often you wait until other group members share their knowledge and then you add additional information if something was not discussed yet, before moving to the next subject. You frequently ask for summaries of the discussed material or you provide them by yourself. You also make connections back to the case and I’ve noticed that the group is doing this a little bit more often now. You are also one of few people who cite your resources and share them with the group by adding to the Google drive. As a next step of your development I would encourage you to add some primary literature, find a research article and cite it during group

So we need to work on this as a group. But other times I ask the group for specific evaluations and I see that these are extremely important for the growth of the group. After this Monday self-evaluations something really changed, the entire group had much more energy and much more balanced participation on Wednesday and even better on Friday. On Friday we had specific peer-to-peer evaluation and I hope it was useful to know how other group member perceive your help in the learning process. Last week your contribution was very good, you showed you knowledge both on Monday and Wednesday so it seems to me you review your notes better especially before Monday as you planed to do. I like that you try to encourage other group member to contribute to the discussion either by asking probing questions or clarifying questions. You also tried to call on specific people. Sometimes it works, sometime it does not but it is worth to try. You also provided nice summaries of the discussed material. I am looking forward for your EBIQ presentation on

They all commented on how they enjoyed to reading, working with lego’s, ocean counters, math flash cards, and using the white boards. This group is definitely a hands-on group of learners and very interactive. They commented on how they learned more after the lesson from the results of their post-text. They really liked knowing they are smarting now knowing their numbers 1-10 and being able to tell me which number is greater than, less than, or equal too. The timing of the feedback redirected them or set them on the correct path.…

I want to be a Beta Club officer for various reasons. Some of them include working with a team/group, helping others in our community, and being able to gain experience that can be used in the future. I believe that in order to be a good, productive member of anything you have to be able to work and cooperate with others. One great way to practice that is by working with other experienced Beta Club officers and members.…

I feel as if the group project could have been done a lot better I felt as there was more of a focus on getting to know one another rather than focusing on the assessment. Currently I am not as confident on working with individuals that I don’t know so well as I was when we first started as I realized not everyone in the group had the same approach towards the task as I did especially in terms of prioritization despite this I believe I am more confident in showing leadership as Staci and Emily had other commitments I attempted to accommodate for this by contacting them and working out times when they were both free I believe this was a positive thing as normally in group assessments I have a tendency to rely on other people to make decisions like this and it was a positive experience delegating rather than receiving tasks. Overall working with Staci and Emily was fine as I have a more passive personality in group assignments it was a good learning experience for me a study has also shown that working as group positively influences and facilitates an exchange of knowledge(Shaw, Mitchell and Del Fabbro, 2015) this definitely occurred during our group work when it came to elaborating on social determinants I was able to help both Staci and Emily better understand them while Staci assisted me in learning about the stream factors overall I believe we compensated very well for each other’s gaps of knowledge . On the other side of the spectrum our fourth member Louis was difficult to work with as he contacted us the weekend before the assignment was actually ready to present and this caused a lot of stress and panic, after talking to Emily and Staci they definitely felt the same way about the situation with…

Journal Entry 6 I observed: This session had quite a lot of things to be observed. Some of these include the flow of the session i.e. the session had a very few pauses and went very well when members talked about what they were going through. I observed that a few of the members did not have a good eye contact. This occurred when the member tried to explain a situation.…

Grant, your reflection is as usually very thoughtful and insightful. Once again you made a great point. I was thinking to point out the same in the Mid-term evaluation. I have a feeling that you really could cover the whole IQ session by yourself, so you have the ability to over dominate the group, because you do your research very thoroughly, so you know a lot and you are excited to share it with your peers. But I also see that you’ve been thinking about it how to hold yourself from speaking too much and you’ve been already complementing these thoughts into your behavior.…

Reflecting upon past experience is key requirement for professionals and academics to ensure better communication, resolve conflicts, and improve future performance. To look back on, group work using Stock-Trak Trading Simulation has allowed participants to gain extreme practical knowledge in trading and investment. This writing is to reflect on my contribution to the simulation activities, critically evaluates our group performance, discuss team work, communication, and possible suggestions to ensure future improvement. It can be argued our team performed well, though organisation skills could have been better. Session 6 was conducted with our professor in her office. I stated last week in my reflection paper my concerns pertaining to our professional relationship and her well-being and our professor believed it would be beneficial to have us all meet to discuss the situation and the future of our dyads. However, the duration of this reflection will focus on my interpersonal interactions during the meeting along with incorporating the text to see if my responses align with the concepts stated in the book. The meeting began with our professor directing our attention as to why we were called in to meet.…

Overall, I received fair feedback. Although I was able to hit most of the skills from each category there were a few that I missed from each. During the actual practice I was very focused on not messing up and hitting the key points. However, once I was finished and recapping over the session I realized both strengths I have developed and challenges I still need to work on. This experience showed me what I have have learned thus far in class and also what I still have to learn.…

Yet, I ultimately learned that I was not just a facilitator, I was also part of the group, I trusted my peers and the feeling seemed reciprocal so there was nothing to fear. Essentially, I now feel ready to incorporate theory and feedback from my seminar group into three main areas of group facilitation: addressing silent members, summarizing main themes throughout the discussion, and exploring similarities between the members of a group to enhance universality and cohesiveness. Overall, I believe the discussion went well since it did not feel as if we, the co-facilitators, were leading the discussion, we were merely providing the members with the tools to enhance their self-efficacy as a group. While we presented the main themes, the group itself eventually elaborated their own focus as the discussion developed and they shared their experiences.…

During the forming stage of Tuckman’s Group Development Model, the people are usually cautious and carefully explore other members and the common group goal (Engleberg& Wynn, 2012). Individual Reflection Paper As humans, it is within our inborn nature to interact and cooperate with others. This is due to the fact that no one individual is perfect and capable in all ways. We are able to complement each other’s inadequacy through working as a group, hence this is why collective efforts often made things easier as compared to individual effort. While working in groups, we will experience changes in group dynamics and processes.…

I have been taking this class for nearly three months. During three months, I learned a lot about small group communication, especially the group climate and interaction are going well in our group. Our group works well on building and keeping positive attitude to our assignments and supportive climate. Each group member devotes to create an atmosphere that our group is the best group. For instance, our group member Erik and Jo always said some words of praise and encouragement, such as “we are really a good group”.…

We have 5 members in our group of whom 2 were male, and 3 were female. After we were assigned the project, we all came together, and made a commitment to do it better, and succeed at it. Firstly, we welcomed ideas from everyone, without setting any criteria. Our project was to reinvent any product with more features that will be helpful for public. It was a very challenging project because we were to redesign a particular product, which should be more appealing to the costumers in terms of features, solution of particular problems, availability, and cost.…

Introduction In this reflection, I will focus on some important topics such as, what I learned about individual and business taxation from this course, what was my experience with the group project and what were the challenges that I faced during both the group project and this course. I am also going to add some main overall points that I learned. Tax is generally an amount of money that is charged by a government on a product, income, or activity so that it can pay for public services. In addition, there are several very common types of taxes: • Income Tax (a percentage of individual or corporate earnings filed to the government) • Sales Tax (taxes charged on certain goods and services) • Property Tax (taxes charged on the value of land…
