Reflection On The Drive

The Drive Reflection The Drive was surprisingly easy to write. It was easy because I was simply jotting down my emotions. I already had the whole essay in my head before I knew we were writing an essay. Though, I did not want to write a school essay on it. I finally had to after I spent hours trying to think of a different idea, but this one always came to mind. I finally said, “Screw it” and started it. When I was writing The Drive, I had a lot on my mind always thinking of ways I can tell my father off. I truly did hate him, and it shows in the essay. This was an essay that had a different purpose than most. It was not meant for many to read. Writing the essay was easy, the conferences were more difficult. People gave me sympathy that I

In my rhetorical essay on, On Writing Well, by William Zinsser I tried my best write an essay to effectively show my reader in what I believed. In this essay I wrote how I thought William Zinsser was very effective in proving and demonstrating his points to his readers. I went into talking about how he involved some of his points through his own writing and as he did was very effective. As I wrote my essay, I included quotes and examples that Zinsser used through the book, to show prove of what I would state and why I stated it. Throughout my essay, I had many complications in trying to get my point across due to the fact that I had trouble understanding the concept of the essay myself.…

For the second essay, I decided to write a letter to Reggie Shaw. Within the letter I wanted to capture Reggie’s emotions, and let him know that his story has become an inspiration for us all. Throughout the read, I also wanted Reggie to forgive himself, and continue sharing his story with the new generation of drivers out there. Additionally, I tried to use sources that I believe would support my claim. Sources that discussed the different types of trauma the brain experiences when under emotional pressure, and sources that talked about the negative effects of cell phones.…

For my final revision project, I decided to revise my fist essay “The Visible Cancer”. The reason I chose to edit this essay was the special connection that I had to it. When writing this essay, I was very invested in telling the audience how I had felt and describing what had happened with my dad’s cancer as best as I could. In making these revisions I thought it would be a good way to look back on how I viewed the situation when I first wrote this right after it happened compared to how I feel about it now after several months.…

This series moves through multiple determinants such as the social gradient, race, social exclusion, as well as many others to impress upon its viewers that our health is intimately associated with the environment (Alderman & Strain, 2008). Since the beginning of my first year at school I have been learning to read and write. Throughout these years I have had a lot of experiences with reading and writing. All through high school we would write responses and essays over books we read. Once I entered college everything changed; I began to learn about writers and people who were known because of their great works of literature. In college, you are held to a higher standard and responsibility than you are in high school; this challenge has encouraged me to work hard and because of this I have become better at writing.…

At the beginning of the year around the same time that the first essay assignment was being discussed and explained I began to think that the assignment was going to be somewhat easy. I began to search for books that seemed interesting to research, that I could use for the assignment. The selection process was one of the most time consuming parts of the assignment. I I gathered the final four books which were “Rebel Souls”, “Walt Whitman Reconsidered”, “Walt Whitman: A Gay Life”, and “Walt Whitman”. I began to realize that this essay was not as easy as I thought it was.…

While at Otterbein, not everything has been so easy, which no fault can be put on Otterbein that is just a course of life. You overcome these struggles and you learn from them. This brings me to my family conflict paper, this paper allowed me to bring attention to an event in my life that is still new. My conflict paper was about my mom and the emotional neglect I had as a child. The paper also touches on the fraud my mother committed against me and my discovery of it my sophomore year while at Otterbein.…

Over the last four essays, my ability to write has improved exponentially from the beginning of the year. Through the four essays I have learned valuable skills that will be the support for future essays. On the two beginning essays my ability to use vocabulary and other valuable skills was improving. By being supplied by information from the instructor, and fellow classmates I was able to spot my weaknesses in my writing and improve where improvement was needed. As the semester progress each essay improved upon the last as self reflection and reflection from others was used wisely.…

When I reflect back on this assignment the most vital lesson I learned is to allow the evidence to guide your conclusion. Our group created a well put together PICO question comparing two conservative treatments for knee osteoarthritis (OA). Prior to this literature review, our group was in agreement one intervention would be more beneficial in improving function and reducing pain in patients with knee OA. All of the background information pointed towards one being more effective than the other. However, the research available did not support this statement.…

Unfortunately for personal reasons, I was not able to complete this assignment by the due date. In order to not fail other courses (whose presentations were not due on that day) I had to sacrifice the presentation of this essay. I recognized that a ‘Domino effect’ would happen with the other assignments if I devoted the necessary time to that assignment. If I could change something, it would be to think twice before taking three classes for one summer session, so I can give my whole attention to only one or two courses.…

Based on my prior experience in honors english for two years, AP English Language and Composition, and AP Literature, English 101 honors is the best fit for my experience and my level of meticulous and strategic writing at this point. Writing and reading have always come easy to me in school; whether reading to write a book review for the class or reading for the AP exam, I have excelled with high honors and the highest remarks from the faculty on my writing and style. English has always been one of my best subjects. Most of my english teachers were pretty impressed with my writing skills and with my advanced vocabulary for my age. My 9th grade english teacher even thought that I should get into writing, whether as a blogger or as an journalist.…

This is my reflection on my previously written evaluation paper on “Love in L.A.”. In doing a critique of my previous paper the following elements will be discussed: the topic, the description of the subject, the criteria used to evaluate the short story, the fairness of my writing, and the evidence to back up my evaluation. My History As A Writer Throughout my lifetime I have come to love and absolutely hate writing. The reasoning of the assignment or topic has a lot to do with my affinity and disgust. Although learning new things, like writing, was something that I loved doing in elementary school, that all changed when it was daily implemented. As an art form I recently come to love writing down my thoughts, ideas, opinions and stories.…

Prologue I breathed in the pink eraser of my pencil and immediately felt my face frozen as my thoughts was blank. I had no idea what to write about my family history since I had not known my father for years and my mother was very difficult to comprehend. The bus ride of noisy classmates made it hard to think of anything positive about my life as the heavy weight, large bus driver hit every bump or pothole in broken concrete roads. There is one thing I hate most than being named after a coin, divorce parents in high school, is being an heir to a group of witches.…
