Because the DNP degree is relatively new, health care administrator will be watching the DNP prepared nurses for effectiveness to determine if there is value to the role. It will take time a sustained effort for the DNP as a health care leader to close the gap between the old way of doing things and a new way of thinking (Peterson, 2017).
