Teaching and tutoring experience
I have been a clinic tutor on the SPOP course since its inception in 2015, it has been both an enjoyable and challenging return to working in education. As a new team I believe I have been effective and active participant making positive contributions, this has involved suggesting and writing tutorials both individually and sometimes with colleagues. I have become adept at adapting or changing these at short notice when the needs of the student or situation required this.

I am generally organised and flexible, responding effectively and kindly to the often unpredictable needs of patients and in this case their families. I have managed the occasional clinical emergencies or child protection issues in

Since 2002 I have been writing and delivering specialist training courses to pilates and movement teaches. This has given me extensive experience in delivering information to varying groups with differing needs, using a variety of teaching methods and styles including interactive presentations, keynote/powerpoint, producing comprehensive course notes/handouts, plus practical and experiential based learning. I feel comfortable working and sharing with small groups and have also lectured to large audiences, I was invited to present the keynote lecture on women’s health at Pilates conference in …show more content…
This involved having to breaking down complex medical information into bite size easily digestible blocks of information so that the students could effectively support people living with back pain. Then teach them the medical terminology to effectively communicate with health professionals. This previous experience has been useful when helping students on the SPOP course who are of varying levels of experience with their communication challenges in clinic, with patients, their families and other professionals.

In 2013 I trained as a community first responder which gave me a fascinating insight into the work of the NHS emergency medicine rapid response teams. For the last three years I have been offering low cost emergency first aid training in my local area and training professional in first aid for work. I train teams and individuals to remain calm and effective in changeable stressful events or health emergencies.
