To fulfill the requirements for this course we had to take a style matters inventory on my conflict style. After analyzing my conflict style, I was surprised by the fact that it was accurate in some aspects. Although there was some accuracy, there were areas that were not accurate. Even though there were some inaccuracies, I was impressed with the results. I do not think that there is a survey that would be precise because there are many variables that you must incorporate. Furthermore, your style may change based on the situation.
Moreover, after taking the style matters inventory reflections the most impressive thing I noticed is my score in compromising. Personally, I think that compromising is critical when interacting with people, and especially when leading people. When I make compromising a priority, it enables me the opportunity to gain the respect of the people that I am leading. One thing is becoming the ideal team player. By becoming the ideal player, it is imperative to value the outcome of this survey. When I appreciate this survey, it allows me to exhibit humbleness. According to Lencioni (2016), “Humility is the single greatest and most indispensable attribute of being a team player” (p. 157). I must remind humble when the shifting storm overtakes my calmness. It is critical that I am conscious of the way people react when this shift takes place. Another correlation is a sense of being smart. As Lencioni (2016) states, “Smart simply refers to a person’s common sense about people” (p. 160).
