After having to take your class I have realized that my study skills were not up to par at all. As the semester began to progress I started to buckle down and sit down and take the time that all the material that needed to be studied was receiving it 's appropriate study time. After being able to just sit down at my desk and assess the work that is at my desk I can finally study and work to my full potential.

I learned that from all the concentration activities that we had done in this class that for me to stay focused during any assignment that I have to do I must sit in a dark room with any type of instrumental music playing so that I may focus on my work and be called at the same time. Being able to look around my room

Mostly because I was worried about it the whole time until I had turned on my computer and heard an instrumental. Then I looked over at Ryan Guyton and told him let’s start doing this! He had no idea what I was talking about until I took the first name on the list and looked him up. After finding out information on the first president. It came naturally to me to just start saying it out loud in a rhythmic manner! Within just a hour and a half my paper was finished! I want to thank you personally for assigning that project to us, because I think that had to have been my favorite project …show more content…
Unfortunately I had missed Tony Bristers speech so I am unaware of what he had covered. But Ms. Steles story that she had shared with us has to this day still stayed with me. She had to choose whether she wanted to play soccer of choose her academic career. She started with the analogy with the biscuit. To distribute the biscuit among that class she was going to have to split it among all 15 of us. She had the choose to give it to just one part of the room and let the rest of us starve or feed herself and make it to where she was the only one that was getting fed. She compared this type of thing to her interests in college was she going to focus all of her time on things that did not matter or was she going to focus all of her time on school! Was she going to spend time on soccer which was something that was not going towards paying her bill. Or was she going to be smart about it and begin to realize what was really important at the time. Which made her think the most important question. Why are you doing it! Do you see yourself doing it for the rest of your life or are you passionate about it. I knew this hit me hard because I want to wrestle because I had wrestled all four years of my high school career and I have wanted to go back but I know that choir is paying for my school and no a hobby that I just loved to do back in the day. I loved this class

Learning to write When I attended elementary school, part of the curriculum was penmanship. There was a certain segment of instruction dedicated to penmanship rather than writing. We were given large sheets of oat colored paper with three parallel lines widely spaced. The alphabets were used to print and write in cursive using the midpoint, and upper lines for capital letters. The handwriting grades were based on neatness and readability.…

One-One-One-One For The Road For an American born and raised student, English, Literature, and Writing are commonplace in both primary and secondary school curriculums. Yet, for myself specifically, these curriculums were not the construct of any institution, instead, for a majority of my life, my education took place in my home, as a homeschooled student. And, because of this arrangement, I possessed an undiagnosed disability in writing until late in my secondary school career at a private institution. With the assistance of dedication and providence, however, my final year of secondary school was accompanied by a rapid growth in my textual composition.…

Through the past semester, I believe my writing has strengthened in skill and individual direction. In a similar manner, as a college freshman learns independence during their first year on campus by living away from home with less guidance, so has my writing skills. Whereas, in high school, our teachers provided us with a uniformed writing prompt with a clear argument or thesis. This semester has provided me with the skill in writing towards a specific audience with a clear position. Through this process, I was rewarded with the opportunity in learning to incorporate my voice in my writing, instead of simply to questions that were posed on a sheet of paper.…

Writing was a challenge that I dreaded when I chose to be in the course, nonetheless with time, I learned from my mistakes and was able to improve. Through this semester I’ve taken a lot away from my classes, and this one especially. When writing my papers, I always tried to connect to something that happened to me, to make it more of a personal story. I thought by doing this I could write a better story because I thought people would be more interested in what I had to say. This class really made me go outside the box I always put myself in, when writing papers in high school. I was always worried about people judging my writing skills and didn’t really care about what I had to say.…

By the end of the semester I have gained crucial experience in not only writing papers, but employing different writing and work strategies during class. The first essay that we were required to write for class was a domain essay. The domain essay was about our major, what experience we have with it, and what we hope to gain from it. This was the first paper of the class and also the first paper I had to write in a while.…
