My social location is complex and it defines my life experiences. I am a twenty year old, African American, middle class, able bodied, heterosexual, Christian woman. As Patricia Hill Collins states, “Everyone has a race/gender/class specific identity.” That is to say, I am both a college student and a black woman. Patricia Hill Collins made me realize that I do not stop being a black woman as a college student in class. Therefore, all these things make up who I am and have an impact on my outlook of the world.
