There are no regrets, the service learning project was a total great experience. Helping out the 10th grade students with their classwork was kind of a difficult task, but definitely a worth going. The idea that I'm in college already made a huge impact when I was tutoring those students. I'm already used to a college environment. Doing this service learning project made me feel that I was back in high school. I decided to do this project for four main reasons: I didn't want to do the research paper, I wanted to return the help that I received from my ESL teacher when I was in PHS, I wanted to do something productive with the time that I had available between my classes, and lastly I needed some money. Overall, I wasn't expecting to see so much difference between the standard, and intensive class, but there was a huge difference among these two classes.

This conversation started because I stood next to them so they could do their work, but they started a conversation with me instead. One of the students told me, "I want to be a marine biologist," and I told him, "You know that you have to go to college for that, right?" and he said, "Yes, I only need a Bachelors." Right there! I took that opportunity to tell him that his English class is nothing compared to college and if he doesn't put any effort into this class, college for him will be more difficult. The ironic thing was that he agreed with what I said to him. I told him about my experience as a student at PHS. I told him that my favorite class was English, even though it was difficult for me. He asked me if I was in the Honors Roll and I told him that yes I was, even though I was learning the language. I wanted to give him the impression that hard work pays off, and he did understand my
