Reflection On Rad Town Presentation

Improved Essays
While presenting my groups Rad Town presentation, I saw plenty things that we did well and things we could have improved on or changed. All in all I feel that we had a well rounded presentation. During Dallas’ portion, I think he was a little to loquacious for the good of our project. We could have done a better job helping him explain some of the bigger words and objects that he mentioned. We also could have helped him round up some of his points.Even though there were some parts that were hard to understand, he gave a great presentation. He spoke clearly and confidently while giving his attention to the class. In my opinion Mkenna did great research and did her portion justice. She was able to ask the questions thrown her way with pure

    1. How did you analyze your students? My class as a whole seems to understand the term greater/ more than, less than an equal too. I analyzed Brian’s work by interacting with him in conversations and asking the numbers he wrote on his paper, and ask him which one was greater than or less than.…

Andrew’s delivery of the presentation was one of the best I have seen from someone giving a presentation. He was clear and avoided using business jargon that would confuse his audience. Andrew came off as confident and very knowledgeable about each topic. He also encouraged us to ask questions at any point during the presentation. He was bombarded with many questions, but Andrew never stumbled and gave clear…

Being able to Self-govern themselves is one of the best aspects of colonial life. This is because they weren’t fully controlled by England. They still had some say in what happened to them. In the notes; “Town Meeting-Done in New England Meeting where people talk about and decided on issues of local interest” (Class notes 11/19). This shows the colonies government themselves and handle issues.…

Adaptation of Our Town Of the three versions of Our Town that we viewed in class, the PBS 2003 version best portrayed what the author Thornton Wilder wanted. Our Town is quite a unique play due to the fact that unlike most play’s the Stage Manager is on the stage rather than behind the scenes. The Stage Manager is also a character in the play itself and acts as a narrator in the play, so he talks directly to the audience the majority of the time. This unique characteristic allows a director to make frequent creative choices that can create a variety of different versions of the play for audience members to view The NBC 1977 version of Our Town was not the least akin to what Thornton Wilder wanted, but it was my personal least favorite.…

I found that once you started to see more of the parliament building it gets more interesting. However I found that that the painting were the most interesting from all the stuff I witness. I say this because each of the painting are a symbol of history, which were painted very well. To be completely honest I felt that some of the producers during the presentation were pointless.…

    I. Invention a. Research Recourses I think Abby did a really good job with her research. She found information from some good creditable sources that was very relevant to what she was speaking about. One source however, The Examiner, isn’t really the most creditable. I think she could have found a better source in place of that. On her outline, I have no idea where her sources are in her speech and I got sort of lost when she gave her speech so I didn’t get to write it down.…

Through the progression of this course, various aspects of history were viewed, in addition to concepts that are still associated to the lives of Aboriginal peoples today. While carrying some previous, biased knowledge on the topics discussed, First Nations Studies allowed the development of many ideas as well as the differing perspectives on each. Via the use of assorted reading selections, tutorial discussions, guest speakers, lectures, and a variety of other forms, I was able to take away a unique understanding, different to the one I had prior, which in turn educated me on Indigenous communities. This course attempted to bypass the anger that has been accumulated over the years, and portray information in order to avoid further issues…

After noticing the speaker’s confidence during the speech, it became clear that his calmness and ability to speak clearly, his ability to refer to his notes and to use the power point at the same time and also his ability to ensure he was the source of the information he was giving made his delivery good. This informative speech could have been improved with more body movement during the transitions and a good eye contact with the…

When I delivered the teaching session, the experience was an overall success with students showing a clear interest and engaging in the lesson (Table 1, question 10, mean 4.3). The teaching began with a clear introduction to the key learning points for the whole session (Table 1, question 5, mean 4.3), which allowed the students to understand what the session was going to entail. This was beneficial to those who needed to see the big picture to see how topics fit together[1]. I further explained that the session will be split into three sections and explained that certain learning outcomes will be covered in each section. Student feedback stated that there was “enthusiastic teaching in appropriate sized teaching bites.”…

That really disappointed me that I was unable to involve the students during my lecture. Few of the junior students also felt that I should have reviewed the topic material in a clear and concise manner (approximately 87%). Due to lack of time I did rush through my content and wanted to cover all my slides. After receiving the student evaluation form I was surprised that almost 45 students out of 75 were pleased with my presentation. This really surprised me, because more than half of the class was happy with my session.…

Her word choice was carefully picked, precise and clean. Her tone was a calm yet persistent one where one could see how subtle but also determined she was on her work. She would pause just enough to make a clean speech, she didn’t hurry off or seemed nervous in any way which only interested the audience into paying attention to her. However, one may think that she would have an even more effective speech if she would of played with her voice a little more or do some sort of hand gestures. If she would have changed her voice into a stronger one she maybe could have expressed some strong feeling that wasn’t empathy or remorse.…

In my opinion, Sam did a great job doing this presentation having in mind that he is only seventeen. He kept his speech fluent the whole time, there was not a single filler used such as, “um, and uh.” He kept the audience entertained and used examples in order to back up his topics. The only thing I would recommend to Sam, would be having the speech projected on the screen instead of in hand. He may have preferred it this way, but I think that at times he would take the time to look down making it more difficult than it would be having it in front of him projected.…
