My Definition Of Prejudice

Prejudice, according to Merriam-Webster means to “a irrational attitude of hostility directed against an individual, a group, a race or their supposed characteristics.” Webster is correct about the definition, society rather thinks negative towards the action itself. And they are not wrong for doing think this, the results of prejudice are rather biased and misguided perspectives on individuals who are not always following society’s career and living standards that most of us were taught at a young age. However, the action of bias behavior is rather familiar to everyone including myself to the point of executing said behavior. Multiple of times, I have demonstrated in the past judgmental activity towards individuals who were rather outsiders …show more content…
In High School, there will be a moment in a teenager’s life that they will meet different kinds of individuals from race to religion. The grand meaning of diversity is “everyone is different” sadly that meaning didn’t come upon my standards towards a person and their actions. I was always taught at a young age by my parents that if you steal, sag your pants below your waist, or even listen to cursing in your music. You are considered as a delinquent and you will be punished by the law for doing hideous acts! My parents were not wrong and I didn’t want to ever be in contact with people who simply were against society and simple dress code. I basically stayed away from those who had behavioral issues or who boasted about their criminal …show more content…
Of course, I am not blaming my parents for this. Because I have seen and befriended children who were raised incorrectly by their parents and prove to be a far better successor by not listening to those values that their parents wrongly put into their children. The said core values came from the ongoing example of those who do illegal actions on the media. The criminals in question dress differently, they come from rather broken homes, steal items from stores, and drink heavily underage. It’s the main issue of criminal activity that makes those who have decent backgrounds simply follow by that example because they believe that it’s a good idea. According to the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention, Drug Abuse violations are roughly half of all youth arrests including theft, simple assault, disorderly conduct, and curfew violations. All of these violations are clearly made from delinquency and truly are a sadden site to see when it comes
