Balancing school work, free time, and a job has taught me time management. Since I have taken many A.P. classes, I have a lot of homework at night and I babysit about two hours a day after school which leaves me with little time for free time at the end of the day. I’ve learned its best to focus on school work during the week and leave the free time for the weekend. Problem solving is an important skill to have as a leader. I’ve developed problem solving skills by tutoring elementary and senior high level students. I’ve learned effective ways of teaching them the material that is different from the way the teacher has taught them so that they better understand the problems. Having many A.P. classes in my schedule, applying for college, and doing house work has caused me a lot of stress. I’ve learned to balance the stress load by allowing for some time to relax and spend time with friends. In order to better my community I participate in volunteer work. I’ve learned through entertaining Alzheimer’s patients, that even the simplest gestures help the
