Register to read the introduction… This curiosity is always present throughout my life and it is what leads me to my career in IT. I concern very much about self-development because my dad used to always tell me that a person needs to grow and become better with time. Since I was a kid, I always wanted to know how those battery powered toys work so I opened them up, learn about the internal mechanism and make something else out of the parts inside those toys. When I got older, I was interested about how computer technology which then grow into a commitment to get a degree in Information System. My curiosity is still running wildly today with the urge to learn about the universe, how does it work, and where human came from. I always try to achieve a sense of belonging at work, at school, or whatever organization or group that I would likely to be in. Whenever I’m in a room of crowd, I always prefer showing up without much attention, sitting from the back, and listen quietly. I behave in that way not because I just don’t want to be seen but I want to listen and learn about the crowd and situation before I say anything. Though I try to blend in most of the time, I do not really agree with the LSI’s description on Conventional thinker that they lack originality because I’m totally the opposite of that. Though I try to by “low key” at the beginning, my true original self would come out in time. I believe that I developed this thinking style from the influence of my dad because he always said “When you talk a lot, you have more chances to say something wrong. With my strength in self-actualizing, I should focus on maintaining a healthy sense of self-worth because that is my main source for motivation. Motivation is the main drive for self-efficacy and I will need it to keep my performance up. In addition, feeling self-worthy and satisfied is a way to insulate myself from stress. Because of my tendency for being conventional, I realized that I favor too much in enforcement and procedures which will discourage innovative thinking. I should watch out and keep my conventional level in balance with my self-actualizing level. While self-actualizing is characterized as inner-directed or guided by own beliefs or value, conventional style is characterized as outer-directed, or guided by established procedure. I need to balance the two in order to fully utilize the inner and outer energy. With that being said, I should do things to become less conventional and focus on my own unique strengths and skills in order to appreciate the things that make me different from
