Reflection As A Team

In the next few weeks I will be taking over the responsibilities of managing a new team. Though this will not be my first management assignment, this transition is a good opportunity to reflect upon my weaknesses and strengths as a manager and leader, along with management skills that I would like to implement or improve upon as I begin a new chapter in my career. Performance will in turn be further fortified with a system of discipline and rewards, that will lead to intrinsic and extrinsic outcomes (Whetten & Cameron, 2016). Ultimately, the ability to motivate and reward my team in the right manner, will provide them the opportunity to find greater satisfaction in their work (Whetten & Cameron, 2016). As a means of motivating my new employees properly, I will need to make an effort to swiftly form a suitable connection with the individual members to better understand what are their personal motivators (Whetten & Cameron, 2016). Another way that I am hoping to motivate my employees, instead of just manage them is to develop an atmosphere that promotes empowerment. To do this I need to publicize the value of each individual to the team, as well as the group to the organization and the important service they provide (Whetten & Cameron, 2016). I will also find ways to offer them some choices and a notion of self-determination, along with highlighting the positive and negative consequences that accompany the freedom of

As I reflect on my internship I realize it actually started during the summer, my principal asked that I be involved in the Summer Leadership meetings. The school representatives for these meetings were the principal who is a first-year principal with a high school background, the assistant principal who is a first-year administrator and another assistant principal who has spend most of his time in high school, the multi-tiered system of support coach, who is also new to the school and me. This combination was very interesting because I was the only one who had any experience at the school. This combination of administrators has made my internship a bit difficult, simply because they are learning their own roles and responsibilities, so it makes it difficult for them to assign me any of those roles and responsibilities. I have often felt as they feel I am…

My clinical rotation as a student nurse did not only imply observing the providers, but also meant active participation on my part. Being engaged, enabled me to put into practice what I have learned in theory. The first day of my rotation, the nurse permitted me to augment the Pitocin dose by two units after 20 minutes.
