If you would have asked me what my personality and style of leadership was before taking the DISC and Jung Typology personality assessments I would have said that I am a person who isn’t afraid to take charge when needed and I also like to help people with whatever problems they have. Nothing brings me more joy than knowing that I was able to change someone’s life for the better. Now that I have participated in the assessments I know that my leadership style is one that follows my personality results which were ESFJ (Extraverted Sensing Feeling Judging) with a strong I from the DISC assessment. With this new information I was able to learn more about myself. With a personality of ESFJ most people will probably perceive me as a caregiver. This is because I am really good with people, and my strong desire is for everyone to be happy and to bring out the best in people. Sometimes though I can be such a caring person that I have a very …show more content…
I tend to be very warm and energetic but I am constantly trying to get the approval from other people in order to feel good about myself. A big negative is the fact that ESFJ’s are prone to being really insecure about themselves and sometimes overly sensitive to things people say. The other personality assessment that I took was the DISC assessment which is used to show you what your style of leadership is, which then allows us to look at your value to a team, ideal environment to achieve success, your tendencies under stress, and possible limitations. My natural style of leadership is a high S of 87%. But my adapted style of leadership is a high I of 86%. The reason there are two different categories is because your natural style of leadership is the style that you were born with and if society didn’t have an influence you would still be that way. But sadly society does play a big part in everything

As an incoming freshman in August of 2015 taking Rhetoric 105, I not only learned how to take apart papers, summarize, paraphrase, analyze and construct passages, but overall to be a great thinker. There are many ways that a person can tell you that works to become a better thinker, but it starts within you. While writing papers this fall semester, I learned that my writing became better when I a. understood what was being asked of me via the criteria, b. allowed myself to make mistakes in order to understand what I was and wasn 't doing correctly, c. I started to question myself, not in a way of was the work too hard, but in the sense of what the assignment and the thesis I am creating is asking. At this stage, you have to be completely real…

The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator personality assessment is a psychometric questionnaire that helps individuals discover their personality or psychological type. After answering a series of questions, the results are compiled to determine if the person is sensing (S) or intuitive (I) , thinking (T) or feeling (F), introverted (I) or extroverted (E), judging (J) or perceiving (P). With the fore mentioned possible trait combinations, there are sixteen personality types possible. The test concluded that I could be four of the personality types due to the extremely slight percentage difference within two of the traits. Results showed I am 67% extraverted, 1% sensing, 1% thinking, and 33% judging. My potential personality types are ESTJ, ENTJ,…

The purpose of this project is to utilize the results generated by the Myers-Briggs Personality assessment to obtain my personality type and evaluate the validity of the results. Given the personality type of ESFJ with a temperament of SJ, I am given the title “The Caregiver” meaning I am externally motivated with a desire to help others. Being an extrovert, I thrive in social environments. As an ESFJ, facts and details are imperative to properly understand and execute directions. I often react to my feelings in the moment rather than evaluating the situation which can result in being easily agitated with an inability to be discrete about my frustration. As a judging trait, I prefer structure, organization and completing tasks. I like things…

For one this is Leadership 200. What kind of leadership style does these two assessments portray? Honestly, I believe that the two assessments proved that I tend to run more of and democratic leadership style. Leaning more towards the participative type. I want to get everyone involved, the more everyone is involved the better the environment is. I know everyone has heard this saying “Give a man a fish, you feed him for a day. Teach a man how to fish, you fee him for a lifetime.” I much rather teach someone how to get a job done than just tell them to do it and have to worry about the headache of it being…

When I was taking the Keirsey Temperament Sorter II Personality Assessment I had to use a dictionary off my phone. There were a lot of words that I did not know amazing the words you do not use every day. My Keirsey assessment result indicated that my personality type is that of Guardian. I can relate to the result because at work I am like a protector. If someone is talking bad about another employee I tend to jump in and defend that person. The mother instinct pops in and since I am the oldest of the other cashiers. I was confused when taking the Meyers-Biggs Personality Quiz the words got me really thinking. My results were Extravert (68%), Intuitive (38%), Thinking (1%), and Judging (38%). I have distinct preference of Extraversion over…

I have already done this kind of test more than twice before, and I always got the same result, which is ISTJ. This website didn’t tell which personality type I have, but they told me I am a Guardian (SJ’s), and ISTJ is one of the four types of Guardians. The part that I totally agree with is that I am following the rules and cooperating with others, not very comfortable blazing new trails, cautious about change, honor customs and traditions, and believe in law and order. Many people say that I am very tradition and somewhat conservative, but I am also kind of flexible and open-minded. I understand others and love what others think and see, but I just have my own strict rules for myself.…

According to the assessment found on www.41q.com, my Myers Briggs type is INTJ (“41 Questions,” 2013). This means that I am introverted, intuitive, thinking, and judging. While INTJs are generally reserved as a whole and usually do not take the lead in projects unless they feel it is absolutely necessary, they do possess several traits which allow leadership to flourish. These traits often allow INTJs to effectively and efficiently lead teams when the project is within their area of expertise.…

I thought the Survey of Character Strengths was an interesting survey to take. My first and second strengths were not particularly surprising to me, however my third was not what I necessarily expected it to be, but I am certainly not unhappy with it. All three strengths are values I have always admired because I have grown up watching my parents and older siblings showcase all three. I have consciously tried to emulate their example regarding these strengths and it was intriguing and encouraging to see all three show up in the survey. I was glad to see which strength showed up as my top, as kindness and generosity are especially important to me. I would say I rely on all three of these strengths every day and find myself using at least one of them in almost all situations I face. I think all three strengths are beneficial to my cognitive, behavioral and emotional health, but I would say my behavioral health is benefited more by kindness and generosity, my emotional health is benefited more by gratitude and my cognitive health is benefited more by humor and playfulness.…

I was found to exhibit a moderate preference for extroversion over Introversion by 38% (Humanmetrics, Inc. , 2016). I found this result interesting because I personally feel like an introvert, but people are naturally drawn to me. My desire for solidarity is often outweighed by the benefit I perceive in my contributions to the issues I encounter in life; therefore, I chose not to just stand by – I engage! It is rare that I encounter a…

The analysis results from the various self-assessments have afforded me the opportunity to notice hidden aspects about myself. I have been able to perform contemplative and thorough self-examinations of my personality in order to determine viable methods to enrich my overall personality. It has been my experience that organizational behavior in many ways are similar to the institutionalized behaviors exhibited by those in orphanages or prisons. The similarities reside in the fact that the workplace is an environment where people from very different cultures, socioeconomic backgrounds, ethnicities and religious beliefs find themselves compartmentalized into an environment, directed towards a new way of life and then ordered to play nice…
