Reflection On Reader-Writer Notebook

Good Essays
Throughout the course of Composition 1, we were required to read one article every Monday, Wednesday and Friday and we were to discuss it in class. In our Reader-Writer Notebook we were instructed to record a response of 150 words describing the article and our thoughts about the article. As we advanced throughout the different articles we read, we were to better our writing in our notebook and hopefully expand our knowledge as a reader. Currently for the Reader-Writer Notebook I have done every entry which has totaled up to be 14 articles not including the articles written by the students which equalled out to be another 23 articles.
I believe I have made a lot of progress on my writing since the beginning of this year. When we were first assigned this assignment I really did not know how to read deeply into an article and explain my thoughts about it. I never thought that far into a essay before. This has taught me as a reader to go more in depth with my thinking and to expand my thoughts on something rather than keep it to myself. However not only has it helped me as a reader, but also

I really do not know if changing up the articles would make a difference or if it 's something I need to work on as a reader and writer. However as for the professor, I wish you would change up some of the articles. I personally did not enjoy “The City Solution and The False Idyll,” I am not sure what your views may be about this essay, but it was hard for me to understand them and write about them. I would recommend for in the future, maybe explore other articles and a find new essay for the class to talk about. I am not saying I did not enjoy them, but I feel like some of them could get out dated and others could be added to be more prevalent in today’s society because the world is changing

Reflective essay Writing was very hard for me. There were many mistakes I made before 211, but now I feel much more comfortable writing my essay and I will be successful in Ewrt 211. Before 211, I was a writer that didn’t understand much about writing and I often made my reader confuse. Every time I had to write an essay about something for the class, I didn’t know how to organize my ideas and I didn’t know how to put them together. I jumped into writing without second thought and wrote what was on my mind.…

Student completed eight entries in February. I will say that the one thing that really differs from the others are some of our discussions and essays are having to do with recent events whereas in those other essays in different classes are more about old literature. If there is a recurrent theme in my writing I do not see I try to keep it as fresh and diverse as I can. I do these because I do not want my essays to be about one thing I rather they be different and for me to have a lot of options to choose from so I do not get stuck as a one box type of writer. I think a writer should be spontaneous but also mysterious so they don’t give anything away. Writers should always a vision, I put them on the same level as I do artist.…

I have less grammar errors, and I am able to do a well structure and organize essays. During this year I had to do a lot of essays not only for my English class but also for my college 's applications. Doing college’s essays were complicated because I had to do a lot of them in a short amount time. I never had done an essay for a college before, so I wanted to make sure I did the best I could. When I started my essays I had a lot of problems of explaining my ideas because the questions for the essays were not that specific, so I had to be more creative with my writing.…

Thinking about the whole concept “writing for me” is so cliche I feel like, but it’s the way that helps me feel like my work is important, and worth reading. My writing experience before this class was very stressful. I wasn 't and I am still not a strong writer when it comes to academics. I also hate writing for a class. Although, I feel like I have grown when it comes to my writing since high school.…

The syntax of the essay feels off, because of the constant tense changes. My stance on the topic, arguing whether or not a college education is a necessity, is ambivalent. I essentially wrote college is a good thing but it might not work out sometimes. I took the easy way out and summarized the information, instead of sincerely…

I am not going to lie; I did wait to the last couple days to really get started on the bulk work of my essay. Coming off English 52, I thought to my self that writing would come easy to me since I had great success at writing essays in that class, but I was wrong. After waiting to the last minute to work on my essay I quickly realized that I was to late to procrastinate even further. So I am planning on working ahead of myself, and really focus on my time management when it comes to writing essays. Knowing now what I realized at this point, I would have started working on a rough draft/outline right away, even if it meant to get started the he night I got the prompt to my essay, which is something I plan on doing for my second…

In this post I was asked to look at each of the paragraphs and come up with a mini outline for each one of them. This really helped me, and I wish I would have done this exercise in the beginning of the year because this technique of using an outline really helped me when writing a long or short paper. It helped me focus my ideas and organize my paper. A thing I found hard in all of my papers was focusing my ideas and not letting my supporting…

My classroom consists of 180 minutes per day of English Language Arts instruction and we could all benefit from more, although that is not realistically allowed. To begin our day we always have a whole group discussion, sometimes began with a short activity but mostly student lead and this lasts no longer than 10 minutes. Then, we get into the good stuff. The next 10-30 minutes is usually my instruction time. I will instruct and give the students all the information they need; we take notes, watch short clips, or read our books.…
