My Reflection On Disturbance And Form To A Team

For my microteach Marissa and I taught the class how to successfully catch and throw a football using proper stance and form to a partner. We split up the work by having me teaching how to properly catch the football and her teach how to throw the football. Since it was a nice day we decide to take the class outside to teach our lesson. We figured there would be more space to work with, when we went outside there was no one on the field so it seemed like it would be perfect. For our lesson we used the soft footballs because there are light weight, smaller and do not hurt when they make contact. We brought out 6 hula hoops and 18 balls. We started the lesson off by leading the class in some stretches to make sure there arms were ready to throw …show more content…
Marissa gave pointers to the students like “make sure your arm is at a 90 degree angle.” Next thing we did was collect the hula hoops and have the class work on both skills by playing pass back. This time Marissa worked with the student and I walked around through the groups to give feedback. Everyone seemed to be applying their skills of catching and throwing. I made sure tell remind them to use their fingertips and not their palms or their chests. Some groups started a little too far from each other so I suggested that they might want to move in closer so to their partner so that they could practice their aim. As an extension we said if you and your partner complete 6 complete passed you could take two steps back and for those who wanted they could have their partners move around to create more of a challenge. Everyone eventually got to this point so then wanted to add a little bit of an obstacle to the mix. We split some of the groups up and made groups of three to play monkey in the middle. We told the groups when do switch positions so that everyone was the …show more content…
I had never taught a lesson like that before. I learned a lot of usefully tips in the peer feedback and just looking back in what we did. One thing I learned is that time is everything, it is very important to make sure you have a good amount of time for things. Some things require more time than others and if there is too much time you loose the students interest. Having a back up plan or extra activities for these “in case” moments are every important. This came in handy at the end of our lesson when we decided to play a larger game of keep away because we had extra time. During our peer feedback one of the things that came up was that we played monkey in the middle for too long which we had a feeling it would come up because when were doing it we realized its was getting to be too long and we could tell they were losing interest so we made up the keep away game. Everyone seemed to like the keep away game and someone mentioned that we should have played that longer. During peer observation, everyone said that could hear us nice and clear even when they were spread out. They all really like our teaching demos which was good because neither one of us had played football before. We used back to the wall method so that we could see the students at the time to give feedback and so that they could see us. Everyone participated with great attitudes so it made teaching really fun. There were a few safety concerns

The Throwing Skills to Pay the Bills Of the key elements of a well-rounded softball player, a good throwing arm is definitely near the top of the list. While some are lucky enough to be born with throwing skills, even they won't be hurt by softball throwing drills which aim to improve distance and accuracy. When demonstrating these softball throwing drills, make sure to run through each drill at half speed first before increasing the pace. Also give every player who desires a chance to practice the motions slowly first. Not only will this reduce the chances of unnecessary injury, it will also allow the player to feel the correct way of doing things which will translate when the motions are sped up.…

Based on data I collected from coach observations, peer observations, and feedback I decided to focus on OETF indicator 1.B.1: Plans meaningful tasks that require student ownership. Upon determining that indicator and creating a teacher practice goal based on the data I collected, I began to further breakdown my observation feedback and use that as a baseline level. I noticed from my initial feedback that all of my students were not engaging in the task completely. I felt as though I could better support my students as I want them to all feel successful. In order to do that I worked with my coach and reflected on my task and how it could be adapted in the planning stage to be more meaningful.…

Another teaching lesson I found was how Little would use the break in between the semesters to go over what they had studied in the past few months. This is a very good teaching method because sometimes some students might need to refresh their mind on what they previously learned especially since students learn so much in just one semester. 2) Olivia was a very hard working student and was attached to school because she saw it like a refuge from her own home. Team cohesion, defined by Carron (1982), is a dynamic process reflected in groups for their tendency to remain united in order to pursuit their goals or objectives. “In the Anatomy of the Guided Discovery Style, the role of the teacher is to make all subject matter decisions, including the target concept to be discovered and the sequential design of the questions for the learner. The role of the learner is to discover the answers” (Mosston and Ashworth 2008:212). There is a distinct difference between the roles of the teacher and the pupils which can be used to develop and support the learning and performance of the pupils throughout Throwing Athletic PE lessons. This teaching style is quite commonly used when teaching a variety of subjects on the Physical Education National Curriculum, but it is mainly used when the teacher wants the students to discover and think about the application of movement, e.g.…

Micro-teaching Report My microteaching experience was very beneficial to me, in the sense that it developed my confidence as well as focused on areas that need improvement. It was an interesting training opportunity to benefit from. Also, microteaching was a fun experience that we as trainee teachers to teach our peers a micro lesson, which ranged from 5 to 10 minutes. After every mini lesson, we received a review about it from our tutor who observes our performance in addition to feedback from our classmates.…
