In my opinion, conversations about social location between supervisors and employees help to minimize the power dynamics that may exists. Also, it might be a beneficial way for employees to start to get conformable with the topic before practicing this method with clients. Finally with regards to the topic, my perspective is that having these discussions in the work place can be beneficial for the working relationship because it will allow for both parties to become more self aware, to lessen the biases that can exists in the workplace and to add inclusiveness to the culture of the environment. However, challenges that can arise can come from parties not being comfortable with looking within to identify locations of self that can give them privileges. Possibly even the power dynamic of being a supervisor and being a worker can be a conversation that can be uncomfortable for both parties to have. Another challenge I can foresee can come from blurring boundaries and to clarify I mean, there can possibly be more self-disclosure than need
