Intervention and assessment
My assessment was based on exchange model because the strenght of this model lies in its ability to promote respect for the individuality of the service user and to empower and encourage the service user's participation in the assessment process and interventions. The service user is viewed as an expert on his situation (Wilson 2008). The decision to use the exchange model was based on my aims. I used this model to empower Patricia by enabeling her to voice her needs and wishes and by giving her choices and by working with her in partnership. From my observations Patricia showed signs of ambivalent attachment (Bowlby 1988). She was both dismissive towards me and other staff and confiding and on occassions showed
