Hello Mrs. Brannen, Brooklyn is so excited to be in your class this year and starting her first year with GCA! I had a few questions I was wondering if you could answer or direct me to the person I need to speak with. I spoke with the Lead Kindergarten teacher a few weeks ago about moving Brooklyn up in math and adding her to the Latin course. The lead teacher sent Brooklyn's information over to the Advanced Learner Teacher and said she would be in contact with me but I haven't heard anything from her. Brooklyn has already completed a kindergarten curriculum, Sonlight Core A, Handwriting without tears K, Singapore Math K and Latin though a co-op.…

First of all, after Paul’s eyes had gotten damaged, when he was at Lake Windsor Middle School, he was told he couldn’t play soccer. It started after Paul got his IEP form on page 27, “Paul is entitled to take part in our IEP program.” Instead of telling his mom not to sign the IEP form, Paul just backs off and lets it happen. “I stepped outside to show that I wanted no part of that conversation” (page 27). Some reasons that come to mind that Amelia’s mother may have not been available to meet at the assigned conference period may be due to a schedule conflict with her work, or possible that she has to stay home and take care of the grandmother. There could be a chance that she forgot because there was a lack of communication such as reminders. To ensure a that Amelia’s mother was going to attend the conference Mrs. Richardson should have had a sign-up sheet of dates and times she was having conferences, if Amelia’s mother was not on the sign-up sheet then Mrs. Richardson could have tries to contact her through email or calling her on the telephone. The first issue that Mrs. Richardson need to take into consideration is being able to be flexible in accommodating a conference time that is appropriate for Amelia’s mother and possible father to attend.…

Explain how different types of interventions can promote positive outcomes for children and young people where development is not following the expected pattern. “Early intervention means intervening as soon as possible to tackle problems that have already emerged for children and young people... it means that it targets specific children who have an identified need for additional support once their problems have already begun to develop but before they become serious.” (Department for Education, Early Intervention Paper, 2010.) There are numerous intervention services that are provided through schools namely, SENCo, Speech and Language Therapy, Social Workers and Educational Psychologists etc.…

I didn't realize all though school I had an IEP, instead I was told I was in the special education program for reading. I never did find out exactly why, but from my earliest memories of school I went to a special class for reading. Everyday in elementary school I was pulled from my normal class to go into a special instruction classroom for reading.…
