In this session, the students will be taught to understand what self – esteem is and also how to develop self – esteem in them. Parents also will be taught on how to help their kids to develop self – esteem.
This session had been started as the third generation children and students are facing a huge issue with self – esteem. The targeted group for this workshop are students aged 11 – 12. It is highly vital for them to know and understand what is self – esteem is all about as during this period, the kids would be intensely transiting in their life. With drastic physical, mental and surrounding changes, the kids would be having a problem to cope with their own self esteem.

If you know that you are good in sport but everyone tell you that you are good in arts, it will not help to boost your self – esteem. At the same time, if you get encouragement and if you succeed in your way, you’re self – esteem will automatically grow.
How self – esteem is developed?
In adolescence, self – esteem can easily be affected by the hormone changes. Hormone changes, the physical changes as well. Self – esteem can be affected by how they look or how they think they look. Youngsters who have goals in life often do a little better when it comes to self – esteem. Those youngsters whose families are there to support them also would be able to work with high self – esteem. In an adolescents’ stage, belonging to a group of friends is very important. This is why they seem to be so attached to the mobile phones and also want to do what their friends do.
The students will then be given a few exercises to know their self – esteem level. The first stage is self – mirroring. In this stage, they will be asked to write on how they feel about themselves and their self – image. Next a visualization exercise will be taught to boost their self – esteem.
