It was December of my senior year of high school, and college application deadlines were approaching quickly. There are several experiences in my life where I have felt that I was treated in an unfair manner, but the most recent of those experiences is the one that occurred to me only months prior to this application. Up until the beginning of November of this year, I used to believe that being a great and successful student would be the most rewarding accomplishment of my senior high career. As a result of this, I unwisely assumed that the most important thing in my life was how well I could do on the next test. I spent a meager amount of my time involved in anything else aside from my homework or studying; expecting to be fairly remunerated for a majority of my hard work. Earlier this year, I was indeed rewarded with an application to National Honors…

I want to thank you for the opportunity to be able to apply for the Physical Therapist's Assistant Program (PTA) at Whatcom Community College. My passion for Physical Therapy began in high school while working at my first job, which was fortunately in a Physical Therapist office. At this job, my aide duties included assisting patients through exercises and setting up patients on modalities. Being a student athlete, this job opportunity made me realize the importance of physical therapy due to sports injuries of team members and classmates. The abundance of these injuries showed that physical therapy and sports rehab injury prevention is a priority among young athletes.…
