Today when I walked into Jaron’s classroom there was a sub, so things were slightly rambunctious. Jaron did not see me walk in and seemed extremely focused on his school work and did acknowledge me at all; all his classmates started shouting his name to get his attention. He stood up and walked towards me he seemed slightly embarrassed. This had me wondering if he liked to “fly” under the radar with his peers and not appreciate the attention drawn to him. We got into the hallway and I asked him how his Thanksgiving was and if he enjoyed his time off of school. He didn’t seem too thrilled about it, I couldn’t tell if it was because he was in a bad mood or not. He told me he ate seven turkey sandwiches and that was his favorite part of Thanksgiving. Then I asked if he was excited for Christmas and he said he wasn’t excited for Christmas which surprised me. I decided to read Goldilocks and The Three Martins by Stu Smith followed by a comprehension activity. The comprehension activity was called “roll and retell” it was an …show more content…
My questions and his answers are the following; where does this story take place? “In a house and in space.” Who are the main characters? “Goldilocks, the dog and the cat.” What happened at the end? “She went home and went with her mom.” What surprised you the most about the characters? “Aliens wanted to wat Goldilocks!” How are you like one of the characters in the book? “I don’t think I can answer that. I wouldn’t go to outer space, it is too dangerous.” What is the story mostly about? “Goldilocks and her animals going to outer space because she didn’t want to do her chores.” To find out which question you would have to answer you would roll a dice to see which number it landed on then answer the corresponding question.
