Two books were required for the semester. The first one, Signs: A Grammar Handbook, I don’t think I touched once. I probably should have, and learned a thing or two about grammar, but I didn’t. The second one, Steps to Writing …show more content…
The pre-write in class was helpful because it made me sit down and actually take the time to think about it. If we had not of done that, I would have waited till the last minute to write this essay. I picked the extremely interesting topic of GMOs and found out everything I could about them. After writing the pre-write and receiving back helpful feedback from Mr.Kallas, it was easy to move on to a rough draft. Once again, helpful because I didn’t wait till the last night to tackle it. We then were able to have two other random students proof read the essay and give more beneficial feedback. From there on, it was almost effortless to put the final pieces together. After submitting the essay, we were able to participate in a trivia day for a chance at extra credit. Of course, I was on the winning team every time. We received them back in what I thought was a timely matter. It took two weeks for Mr.Kallas to grade it, and he promised at the beginning of the semester that if it ever took that long we would receive extra credit. This same process was repeated for the narrative essay and the argumentative
