Reflection On Attachment Styles

Attachment styles impact us every day. I was able to find out my attachment style and was able to explain it to my self. Learning about the different attachment styles let me understand some of the people I know. One person that stuck out to me was a friend I had in middle school. Another person that stood out was my neighbor up my street. Then I thought about my best friend and her situation. I believe that attachment styles can describe a person and will tell how successful that a person will be in their life. My attachment style is secure. My mother always likes to do activities with me. She also would try to make it to all of my performances and games. We always hang out and play ultimate frisbee together. I have many friends as well and tend to be a social butterfly. I always feel like I can trust my friends and tend to be loyal to them. People always say they will be there for me if I ever need help. I am so grateful of my friends. I am a secure person because my mother and my friends are always there for me; I feel that I will never be abandoned. My friend from …show more content…
She was adopted which I think is what effected her the most. Her father is a very cold and distant man. Her mother is a kind, gentle and quiet woman. My neighbor is a very loud and wild individual that got caught up in the wrong crowd. First she ran away from home to live with her 36 year old boyfriend at the age of 14. Then they broke up and she was living of the street for a while even though she could just go home. After that she was arrested for trying to steal alcohol from target and went to Juvenal Hall. Once she got out of Juvy she was sent to a half way house where she met her boyfriend. At this point she was 19 and he was 17. She then gets kicked out of the house for smoking pot.
