Reflection On Ap Classes

Thank you for this opportunity to help me grow as a student and learn how to construct better papers. Starting off I’d like to say that I did take advanced placement (AP) language and composition in high school and received a B in the class, which with the grading curve associated with AP classes is weighted as an A. I learned in that class how to write better in a sense that I can form sentences that sound proper and more professional but not in a way that allowed me to get into all of the little intricacies that writing involves.
I have noticed when writing, I tend to overthink my writing and what I want to say as well as when I write I have so many thoughts going through my head as to what I would like to say that sometimes I don’t know how to organize them or …show more content…
The actual PA program is highly competitive and I must use my skills learned in this class in order to formulate a proper application that will ultimately make me stand out amongst many other applicants. Simple mistakes can be seen as weaknesses when applying for such programs, so my goal is to better understand the simpler aspects of writing. For example, the difference between affect and effect, and how and when to use them. I would also like to learn why the period and comma goes outside of the parenthesis because I just now started noticing that is a thing and considering I am in college, I feel like I should’ve already been taught that. I tend to over analyze some writing assignments and make them harder on myself, which is why the little similarities between words can cause an easy switch up for me. Though I will say my weaknesses pale in comparison to my strengths in which when I write about something that truly interests me, I can write as quickly as the thoughts cross my mind.
