Anatomy is the science of body structures and the relationships among them. Physiology is the science of body functions or how the body parts work. Anatomical position is the description of any region or part of the body in a specific stance. I am going to go about my day because my children have had the flu and complained of gassy pains. That must be what this is. As the day progresses I’ve noticed that the pain is still located near my intestines but the pain has gotten more severe. I do not have any other symptoms, however, the pain is increasing which tells me I need to be seen. I will go to the ER and they will be able to let me know what is going on. Once I got to the ER I was brought back to a room fairly quickly. The nurse took my vitals, asked all the preliminary questions and made sure I was as comfortable as possible. As the nurse left he asked me to put on a gown so the doctor could thoroughly check out the issue once there. When the doctor arrived to my room she asked what brought me in. I explained that I had woken up that morning with a pain in my lower left abdomen next to my belly button and that my children had just gotten over the flu. While they were sick they complained of a gassy pain, but theirs went away a short time after bringing it my attention.
