I originally took this class simply because it filled one of my goal areas and it fit into my schedule well. When I signed up for this class I remember thinking how much information could I possibly learn about American racial minorities that I didn’t already know? I thought I already knew everything there was to know about the subject, but I was wrong.
I am a white individual, and I think that may have hindered my ability to relate to a lot of the subjects we talked about in class, but I always tried to view things for a different perspective, and put myself in other people’s shoes.
