Reflection On AP Art History

Improved Essays
Beginning my junior year of high school, I had enrolled in an AP Art History class in hopes of gaining college course experience and credit. Though at first intimidated by the extensive lectures, readings, and writing the class demanded I then started to enjoy the curriculum being taught. The teacher taught the course with what seemed like infectious enthusiasm to the point where the work seemed less demanding and more fulfilling. My junior year also provided me with the opportunity to travel to two of the most pinnacle artistic cities in the world, Paris and Rome. All the knowledge learned from my AP Art History class proved to have resonated within me as I found myself serving as an enthusiastic tour guide for my fellow classmates as we traveled

My lovely Art Have you ever thing what is the art for the people? The arts are something that people love to look at, and they enjoy their time by looking at them. I chose a lovely picture that I would love to talk about in this essay, which is “Professor Donald Elder” because I can describe four things which are the think-looking, description of the work, analyze the line element, analyze the color. The most thing that attract people to love the art is the think-looking. Norman Rockwell drew the “Professor Donald Elder” in a great way that make people think widely because they might think this is the great way to teach the children by doing some fun and some serious behavior, and that make the people happy because of that.…

The halls of Westlake High School are filled with several amazing teachers. Ranging from the enthusiastic English teachers to the down-to-earth Chemistry teachers, this high school has a unique and eccentric staff. Yet out of all the teachers that fill the school grounds, only two teachers have earned the title of being my favorites. Those two teachers are my junior year Art History teacher Ms Darrow and my senior year European History teacher Ms Cluck. Both being history teachers, they shined a light on a school subject that many tend to dismiss the importance of.…

Film Summary The film was very influential, defining art history that I didn’t have intellect about, during the World War II era. Adolf Hitler is not someone who comes off as an art lover but even one of the most hated rulers of all time was fascinated by art, he stored thousands of pieces that he bought and even stole. His art room was the place where he wasn’t Hitler anymore but a man who had numerous imaginations for art. Art is just not drawing or painting it is like music, a graphic way of telling a story and allowing people to create their own according to their creativity.…

This project consisted of making a speech/presentation, model, and doing research on the 1930’s for in theory the Metropolitan Museum of Art. The research was on the designers, culture, trends, famous or influential people, textiles, and inspirations of the time period. Separating the workload via subjects and sections among four people put the project together. When making the project it was important to consider things such as props, space, cases, and the categories. Some important observations made of the 1930’s were facts about the Great Depression, the most popular fabrics at the time such as cotton voile, rayon, and crepe; information on famous people such as Judy Garland, Clark Gable, and Shirley…

As I walked into the AP Studio Art classroom on the first day of my field study, I was taken aback by the vivid colors and distinct decorations that fought for my attention. Before studying the class, my perception of art had always been that it was sporadic, messy, and wild yet organized beautifully by an artist to make something for everyone to enjoy. This description fit the art classroom exactly. The walls were obviously originally painted white, but over the years have been transformed into landscapes of masterpieces by art students enrolled in the courses. Pictures of human eyes, dragons, mountains, and other shapes stole my attention as I attempted to take in the scenery.…

Art and literature were my favorite subjects as they allowed me limitless opportunities to express myself creatively. As we progressed through high school my parents stressed the importance of education on my brother and I. My mom and dad had both taken jobs shortly after graduating high school and not a day of my childhood had gone by with out each of them expressing their regrets for not seeking a college education. True to my spontaneous nature; however, I had still failed to create any formal college plans by my senior year in high school. I knew that job security didn’t exactly lay in the creative majors…

So far, my SCE has consisted of organizing and preparing for the start-up of this year’s National Art Honor Society chapter. In addition to inviting members to join and having our first meeting, I have been setting up for the upcoming induction as well as composing our bylaws to the NAHS constitution. As of now, I have not been able to work on my deliverable, as that project will come into play when the activities and events of NAHS begin for the school year. When those events begin in November, I will be able to construct the deliverable for my SCE.…

-----The summer semester for Humanities is coming to an end and I can personally say on my behalf that this was a learning experience that I will not forget. I know it sounds cheesy but this class was different in comparison to the other classes that I had previously taken before; in this class I was able to learn about several cultures their art, rituals, places of worship and music. I said this class was different because I had never actually spent that much time looking at other cultures nor taking the time to actually understand them, but for this summer class I was given the task to do it, and it soon didn’t feel like I was doing homework anymore because I was actually enjoying the work I was doing and the reading I was doing on the course…

Three years into my high school I hadn't gotten into the state of mind that most over achievers have. I had floated through high school thinking I was trying my very hardest to get good grades and become a consistently studious candidate of my school. However, no matter how hard I tried I failed I gave into all the distractions and used all my obstacles as excuses became frustrated and developed an attitude problem that I had created myself. Being a consistent 2.5 student wasn't satisfying or inspiring. Uniquely enough, I had decided to take challenging courses my junior year.…

I have always had a passion for history and storytelling since I was a child and decided in seventh grade world history class that I wanted to be an archaeologist, discovering ancient cultures and uncovering their secrets. I maintained this plan, arriving at Boston University as an archaeology major but after several semesters of study realized that it wasn’t the exact path for me. I began to grow my appreciation of museums, admiring how they could ignite wonder, curiosity, and learning in myself and others. I realized this was where I felt most at home. Therefore, I decided to change my major to art history, while retaining an archaeology minor, and explore history through the lens of artist’s interpretations and ideas.…
