After many weeks of training and preparing for one of the most dangerous yet heartening trips I would ever go to, the time for the mission trip to Haiti had finally come. At first, the trip was very heart-wrenching for me because I have not ever gone to a third-world country before and would not have the luxuries that I had at home. After arriving, I saw dirt roads, unfinished cement roads, many destitute people sitting on the street, and slums everywhere. I did not try to let these sights disturb me; in fact, I was joyful to be on this trip to spread God’s word.
