The lessons in this book are designed not only to make you an exceptional man, but also to make you a better decision maker and thinker. Like I’ve mentioned throughout this book, decision-making and strategic thinking are two of the most important skills a man can have.

However, many guys do not realize this because they are not connected to their true essence. Once they connect with who they really are, they will be able to find value in themselves as exceptional men. This is why I say that manhood is the most important thing to a man. The position of a man is power and men who are bosses usually assume this position without question.

Some guys wait for others to give them permission to be something that they were born to be, a man. Then there are those who do not have a clue of what manhood is because there weren’t any examples in their lives. I’ve mentioned this in earlier chapters but a male is going to embody two things. He will either take on masculine energy or he will take on feminine energy. The examples that a boy has from birth are crucial to his development as a man. Boys need the influence of men to show them how to be one.

Being a physically grown male does not ensure you as a man or a boss. Bosses are made not born but the position is there for you. All you have to do is seize it and be the best that you can be. In my opinion, manliness is close to Godliness. Like I’ve mentioned earlier, it’s a divine position. Therefore, for any guy to compromise this position for any reason shows the kind of man he is not. Meaning, living without principles and dignity in yourself will definitely lead you down a self-destructive

Gender is constructed by the society. Although individuals are born sexed, they are not born gendered. Learning is required for individuals to become masculine or feminine. Children learn to talk, walk and gesture according to their social group’s beliefs of how boys and girls should act (Lorber, 1991). Gender is a human production which relies on everyone continual “doing gender” (West & Zimmerman, 1987).…

I mean that who men are in society is just as they should be. Paul Theroux’s states in his essay being a man involves stupidity, obedience, and ignorance that is “emotionally damaging and socially harmful” (Theroux), Indeed, men are destructive. They caused world wars, bombed entire civilizations, and devastated and tore up the earth; however, how is femininity supposed to stand up against global concerns, for instance, wages or unemployment. The competitive and aggressive nature of men sets high standards and bold lines. Men want to be the best, they show little to no sympathy, and in most cases will do anything to achieve their goal.…

"Once upon a time, it was a man’s world,” states David Brooks firmly. For centuries it has been understood that men rule over the more important dominant and power positions of the world. From great male pharaohs, to an increasingly systematic view of presidency, men have been able to manipulate genetic gender roles in order to instill the notion that it’s truly a world only able to stand with the leadership of men. However, contrary to the beliefs of the gender based roles of conduct in society, that represent males as supreme in intelligence and in physical dominance, we have evolved into an era where woman carry an equivalent and sometimes ever greater capacity to strive for success than ever before over men. To begin with, no longer…

Since they are always told to follow the guidelines, males cannot always show their true feelings. Showing any type of emotion or doing any action that is not masculine will result them in being judged by other males like their fathers, uncles, or male friends. With the guy code always being reinforced on young men, it shapes them to be masculine but hide their feelings. The writings “Bros Before Hos: The Guy Code” by Michael Kimmel and “Becoming Members of Society: Learning The Social Meaning of Gender” by Aaron H. Devor show how men grow up following the…

What does it mean to be a man or a woman? Many people think that being a man means to not cry, never show any fear, be strong, and never show your feelings. Society is prejudicing men by setting certain standards that they must live up to, to be accepted by others. In the article “The Causes of Prejudice”, Vincent N. Parrillo defines prejudicial attitude as either negative or positive. Since only negative attitudes lead to violent social relations, many people define prejudice as “system of negative beliefs, feelings, and action-orientations regarding a certain group or groups of people”.…

Being smart, kind, considerate, are just natural, humane qualities that all human beings should have, yet men have a hard time of being considered manly when having these traits. Instead of neglecting the in-touch males, we should praise them and treat them with the same respect as others their age. The young men that fail to be ‘manly’ aren’t truly failing anything, manliness is a concept that we as humans made up to make people act a certain way, while the same goes with trying to make women be feminine. A solution to stop having young men self doubt themselves and turning into beasts of aggression is to stop labeling what gender is ‘supposed’ to be associated with that quality, and instead praise individuals as themselves and not on what gender they come…

Masculinity is the most prevalent theme in the article “Boy” by Mark Behr, which depicts a father-son relationship. Undoubtedly a father will teach their child certain rules of life, but what is unique about this relationship is that the constant demands the father urges the son to do revolve around what may be considered “manly” work. These constant demands for the child to emphasize his manliness are a result of the father’s worry about his child’s sexuality. Although Present day families are more accepting about children questioning their sexual preferences, it is clear that Behr’s father was against such acts as he warns him to “watch for queers, fudge-packers, homos, shirt-flap-lifters, sodomites, [and] gays” (Behr).…
