Reflection Of Writing A Letter To My Future Self

When thinking of my writing experiences, I can only seem to remember the good ones. My favorite piece of writing that i ever did was when i had to write a letter to my future self. Trying to think of what to put into the letter was the hardest part. We were required to put what has happened in our life so far and what we were wanting to do with our lives at that moment. We had to think of things to tell our older self about and give some advice if we were ever struggling and we needed something to look back on for advice. We had to tell our future self what accomplishments we had already made and what new ones we wanted to make. Telling ourselves that we had a game plan and we knew what we wanted to do in life. Writing a letter to my older self wasn’t the easiest thing to do, i definitely thought long and hard as to what i wanted to tell myself. I always knew that i wanted to be a succesful person but getting to be successful was the hard part. I tell myself all the time that i have to commit myself to learning because that means i’m one step closer to accomplishing my goals that i had set for myself.
Thinking back on the letter i wrote to myself, it reminds of the person i am today because i still have the same goals that i want to achieve but back then i didnt know how to accomplish them. That letter has made me a better writer because it told me that i was able to do anything that i wanted to do but i just had to find a way to apply the advice i was giving to myself to where i am today. It has taught me to become a more well-rounded person so to speak in the sense that i can do the things i want to do without anyone telling me that i

Literacy Narrative I did a lot of writing while I was in the tenth grade. The English teacher I had at the time was the best when it came down to writing. I did not have too much interest in writing at the time but Mrs. Perez changed that, she gave me a new perception on writing and how it can change society. Mrs. Perez would always recommend really good books, one of which was a book called “His Dark Materials”. This story is about a young girl and her allies, fight for the discover of a dark substance called the “Dust”.…

When I Learned to Read and Write. I first started reading and writing in preschool, my teacher was very helpful and did everything she could do to help me achieve goals, and become who I am today. When I was younger I would pretend that I could read and I would read to all of my toys. In preschool, my teacher saw me trying to read so she came over to me and started to help me sound out the words and form the sentences so that I could read. The first book I read was Dr.Seuss’ “Green, Eggs and Ham.”…

To be completely honest I have mixed feelings about writing and I don’t really have any memorable experiences that made me feel this way, it is just the experiences that I have had with the subject while trying to apply it. I struggle with what to write down mostly and creativity in general and I don’t really excel at any part of it. If I were to say I “excel” at anything it would be revising my work and adding to it. At the end of the semester I hope that I have relearned some key writing elements that lack of practice has caused me to lose.…
