To begin with, the heart pumps 5 liters of blood that is then being transported to the organs and tissues(Cardiovascular System 1). Moreover, there are primarily two circulatory loops: Pulmonary circulation and Systemic circulation. They both have important roles: to pick up oxygen from lungs and circulate oxygenated blood from left side of the heart to all the tissues of the body(Cardiovascular System 3). Blood vessels are very imperative to the body, and mostly to the heart. For instance, in the article, paragraph 5, it states that,” All blood vessels are lined with a simple layer called endothelium, that keeps blood cells inside of blood vessels and prevents clots from forming. The endothelium lines the entire circulatory system, all the way to the interior of the heart, where it’s called the endocardium”(Cardiovascular System 4). While reading this passage, I found out that if you don’t have enough bone marrow or red blood cells you can easily have a heart attack or congestive heart failure(Cardiovascular System 20 - 26). Having this thought in mind, I wondered when patients end up in the hospitals, what is the most common medication they inject to relieve heart pain and get steady palpitations. This lead me to a new research question. I can infer that this article helped me understand how everything connects and eventually relates back to …show more content…
To begin with, the digestive system is a bunch of organs functioning together to break down food(Digestive System 1). According to the article, there are six major functions in our digestive system. They work together to indigest, secrete, mix, move, digest, absorb, and excrete(Digestive System 3). Likewise, The pharynx, or the throat, is responsible for the passing of masses of food from the mouth to the esophagus(Digestive System 5). The pharynx also serves two very important functions: epiglottis and larynx. Without these two there won’t be a route into the esophagus, causing all the food to be trapped in the stomach(Digestive System 5-6). By reading this article, I now perceive a little of the digestive system’s anatomy and how the human body is full of systems linked
