Individual Reflection
The collaborative project is one of the compulsory courses of my first semester in Loughborough University London. Actually, it is my first time to get so close to a real project and work with people from different cultures nearly three months, but I grew up very quickly during this period. When I finished the unique course in December, I found that I have not only benefited a lot from this experience in my studying, but also changed a lot especially in my critical thinking area. Most importantly, what I have learned from my multidisciplinary and multicultural teamwork during the whole project process will become the most valuable wealth in my future career.

First of all, the nearly ten weeks’ project-base learning exercise in the Loughborough University London community has witnessed my great progress particularly in business field. That is primarily because I learned little about business in my past 20 years, so I felt a lot of fear and anxiety in the first two weeks. For example, I was confused with the relationships among the three main activities of the course: lectures, individual project work and academic supervisor meetings. As time goes by, I made it very clear due to very strict process of these three

At the same time, all my group members accepted my work and encouraged me a lot. Besides, I felt extremely happy when I finished my first business work because I could overcome my fear to search and learn a new field by myself. Most importantly, I realized that it is actually a learning process because there were also numerous people writing the project proposal at their first time. This proposal writing experience gives me much more courage and confidence to face future new things, I will not fear to choose new work because I can finish it through my hard working even it is new for

However, sceptics have questioned how the concept is sometimes interpreted, arguing that there is unclear logical and pragmatic examination of its value in professional development. Therefore, developing a reflective report is an undertaking that needs to be approached with caution, more so if individual reflection and critical thinking are to be rooted. The purpose of this reflective report is to reflect on the collaborative boat bus project performance and the experiences of working within a multidisciplinary group. The report will give consideration to the feedback we obtained from the client and from Adam Smith (tutor) and how we then applied this feedback to feed in the report writing. An iterative model, meaning learning through participating, somewhat adapted to the one in Bulman and Schultz (2013)’s ‘Reflective Practice in Nursing p232’, Gibbs (1988)’s reflective cycle explains the significance of the evaluation process, especially building on negative as well as positive feedback.…

Prior to starting my program in educational counseling, I strongly believed that I wanted to work in a four year setting. However, when I took ‘Group Counseling’ and met Dr. Mosqueda, she slowly convinced me to seek out the community colleges. As the class progressed, she mentioned the opportunity of doing hours at El Camino College, in particular the First Year Experience (FYE) program, so I decided to take the offer. This preface is important because it gives a glimpse into my constant eagerness to learn more about what exactly counselors do at the community college. Internship Site…

During this semester I personally contributed to my overall success in the PTAP 2310 class by studying consistently and coming prepared to class. I found that having previously read the chapter and notes, I was able to further understand what Dr. Amite was teaching. This also proved to be beneficial if I had trouble understanding a portion of the chapter I could come with questions. I entered this class knowing that my performance and understanding of the information relied heavily on my entrance into the PTA program. Becoming a PTA is so important to me that it kept me driven to have a complete understanding of the material, even when it was most difficult.…

Competency 2 also states that social workers should present themselves as learners. I presented myself as the facilitator for the day, students called me teacher and I told them I was not a teacher or expert in citizenship classes but still they called me teacher. Another point Competency 2 refers to is self-regulation to manage the influence of personal biases and values when working. To be honest I don't think someone could master this point who could put aside their own values? I think in one way or the other you will always say and suggest something base on your own beliefs or values.…

We formed the group of four people promptly and waited for the topic to be assigned. The topic was assigned in week 9, while in other courses we knew all our topics for group assignments from week 3. Not only the topic for group project was assigned late, but I never had a chance to see the marking rubric and, therefore, to know the instructor’s expectations about my work. Despite the tight deadlines, our group equally divided the workload among four people and started to research the literature about the topic.…

One of the most important thing I have learned in this course that has positively affected my confidence in my writing skills is the concept of writing a “shitty first draft”. In my midterm self-assessment, I discussed how I thought I was among one of the unlucky ones that was not blessed with natural writing skills. However, through class discussions, I’ve learned that one of the most important competent of professional writing is the need for constant revision. Contrary to popular believe, writing does not come easy to anyone. In order to successfully produce professional writing, it is important that one plan, draft, revise, and edit his or her work.…

At the end, it was very rewording to see the power of the report that shared my ideas for the project that can benefit a lot of people and community. Working independently and in a group I am very good at working independently, I know how to organize my time to complete the projects. Working in a group on evaluation memo and mini-newsletter was somewhat challenging, because, I’ve never met the people, I had to work with, in person. The collaboration project helped me to learn how to be more patient and diplomatic; how to share ideas and information and how to divide responsibilities and take a charge when needed. Designing documents Using different computer applications and design features was the most fun in this class.…

Before I came to Kisling Non-Commissioned Officer Academy (NCOA), I thought of myself as a good leader with certain traits and aspects. I believe that if I take care of my airmen, that they’ll take care of me by completing work orders, squadron objectives, or any future events without question. It wasn’t until I attended NCOA, that I was able to put concept names to the leadership traits that I had. For example, I would put aside my self-interest for the good of the work center because I wanted my guys to know that I have their best interest at heart. Which turns out to be part of transformational leader idealized influence.…

At the beginning of the semester, we were assigned a team project. At first, the assignment sounded difficult to me because it was just at the beginning of the semester and I did not know my classmates or the team members assigned to my group. With the help of the teachers I was able to meet and get to know my team members by their names, we exchanged our phone numbers and email address to ease communication. In our first meeting, we were able to select the team leader, come up with the rules to govern the team and also plan the times we were going to be holding the team meeting every week. In our second session, we were able to come up with the project, discuss the project then divided and allotted tasks to each member.…
