Reflection Of The Activist: Veronica Paredes

I attended Veronica Paredes' job talk and then I shared lunch with her and other students.
She made a strong impression on me regarding her broad research interests, the specific project she presented, and the -for me- innovative way to engage the audience with an active use of media. I really appreciate her scholarly work, especially her interdisciplinary approach as well as the activist engagement she showed. I think that as scholars we not only need to develop good research but also it is necessary to open up disciplinary boundaries and to deploy our effort beyond the academic world, trying to reach different social players.
Her conversation with grad students was inspiring and fruitful. I am convinced she would be a great contribution
